My GT245 has a 20hp Kawasaki engine and seems to run quite slow. Full throttle rpm seems slow to me. Is this normal? What can be done to speed it up a bit?

Hello, welcome to TBN. "Seams" is a little subjective. I would first start by buying a tachometer. You should be able to buy one off ebay for less than $10. With it you'll actually know what speed your engine is running at and if it needs adjusting.

Good advise. For now though you could verify that the throttle control cable hasn't slipped in the clamp and that you have full range on the linkage.

I believe the foot pedals are adjustable for a little further travel. Under the tractor there should be a threaded linkage for adjustment. But if I remember correctly, the more forward travel introduced to the pedal, the less travel and slower the backup pedal will engage.
