I posted last week about some problems with my newly aquired Cub.
Just to review I bought this used about a month ago. It had not been run consistently for about a year, but had only a total of 70 hours on it.
It ran ok initially. Then I had problems with the low oil light coming on. I have since established this is a bad sensor.
Now the mower will intermittently emit a large plume of white smoke from the exhaust. This tends to occur when I engage the PTO/blades. The smoke will come out and then stop. When I re-engage the PTO more smoke comes out. Now it seems to be mowing fine and has not given off smoke in the past 30 minutes of mowing.
I have changed the oil, new spark plugs, added fuel/carb cleaner to gas tank.
Should I take it to dealer at this time, or just continue to run it.
