GT 275 hydrostat problem

I have a 1996 GT 275 with Hydrostatic Tansmission. When I step on the forward pedal it will drive very slowly. Reverse does not move at all. One thing I did notice is that my Free Wheel- the linkage that you pull when you want to push pull or tow it- will pull out but I am not able to push or pull the tractor. Does anyone know what might have happened. I appreciate any help that could be given.

I would first check the route of the linkage, to ensure it is not hanging up, or binding, I would also change the hydro fluid if you never have, and check if there is a filter to replace or clean. Sounds a bit like starving for fluid. Keep us posted on what you find. Also give the entire hydro trans a good blowing off with compressed air, and a possible washing, so that all the proper cooling that can be available is there. Dirt, and grass are insulators....

If the free wheel linkage got pulled out you may have some air in the tuff torq. The valve is also used to bleed air out of your hydro. Here is a link that will help

I know this is an old thread, but these threads do come in handy.

Grab the foot brake and pull it back about an inch, problem solved!
