Thanks for all the replies.............I have narrowed down my decisions quite a bit now. I have the best possible price I can find on the L3130 2wd ($10,100), but now I wondering if I should just bite the bullet and go with the 4wd. I am confident I can do all my work with a 2wd, but future loader, resale, and loss of traction during large jobs while building our house are concerning me.
Haven't even gotten a price on a 4wd, I guess I will call and see how much of a jump in price it will be.

It always baffles me when I can find other dealers selling for less then I can buy them for?

I just got back from driving them both and the L3130 is going to be a lot versatile than the L3400, due to the shuttle shift (GST).
The L3130 2WD does not have a GST (Glide Shift) transmission, it has an FST (Fully Synchronized Shuttle) transmission. They are totally different. Click on the Transmission button on this page http://kubota.com/f/products/L30.cfm## for more information.

I would definitely recommend getting 4WD with your tractor. It wasn't even an option when I purchased my 3130 last year. Of course I did get it with the FEL, but I also got a rear blade for grading/smoothing my long gravel driveway. I can tell you first hand that on flat surfaces with loaded rear tires, I can get away with dragging the blade in 2WD no problem. But as soon as I start uphill with a blade full of gravel, I start spinning and losing traction... until I engage 4WD. It's a night and day difference.

In general, I think everyone who has 4WD will attest to it's importance. I'm sure once you start using your tractor, you'll find lots of reasons why it is well worth the investment.

Sorry for the typo, BillG. I meant the FST, but after looking at so many tractors, I had mistakenly typed in the GST.
Thanks for catching my mistake. I wouldn't want to confuse anyone about what I was asking.
