They don't think it through and they don't look past the end of their noses.You know, this just illustrates how narrow and/or ignorant some people are. I certainly have no desire to kill a deer, but I can tell you that back in the 30's and early 40's my Dad killed quite a few (illegally I might add) just so we could have meat on the table.
In fact, when I was growing up in the 50's and 60's, much of the wild game...deer, turkeys, beaver...were harvested by the depression meat hunters until there were no turkeys or beaver and very, very few deer left. Now there are more than there ever have been.
Growing up a country boy, I learned to hunt when I was in my teens. Some people don't recognize that country culture and hunting go together, at least they do/did here.

They're trained to jump through the car window and subdue the perp so they can be detained.
