Grits

Think I found a good use for grits. Used a small bit on a piece of rag to rub a small scratch on on the fender of our SUV. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

BTW, stinkin' fire ants just moved into our county. Guess who already found one mound? Arrrgh. I thought I had moved far enough north to get away from the blasted things. I'm hoping and praying for a real cold winter, no matter what heating fuels do. Maybe it'll kill 'em off. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

No, grits are like a home-remedy for fire ants. Theory is, the ants eat the grits, and the grits swell up in their bellies after drinking, killing them. This however is a myth -- it doesn't work. Fire ant workers only drink liquids.

Interesting. Never heard that one before, despite having lived in FL, where fire ants abound.

I am in CT and have found them on the property, so I suggest that you keep going North if you want to be free of them. Try Alaska... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Been there, lived there, worked there.

Trouble is they have fire ants there too. Theirs are the flying variety -- mosquitos, I think they call them. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
