3-Point Hitch Grinding gears with hitch

Lately, when I've tried to start a 3-point hitch item (most recently my brushhog) I put in the clutch, and carefully push down the handle. Grinding of gears!!! I've found it's not quite so bad if I turn down the rpms to the lowest level, but I still get some grinding. It's no problem taking it out of gear, but getting it in is bad. Suggestions? (I'm using an 85 Kioti 3054).

You might need to get the clutch adjusted. I ALWAYS reduce rpm to lowest before engaging pto. My old JD had this same issue, and after i had JD adjust my clutch, the problem went away. My new Kioti has a push button pto, but i still drop the idle before engaging it. The 2 stage clutch on the JD had simply wore down to the point that full engaging of the peddle wasn't fully disengaging the transmission. was a simple , cheap repair.

I still have this problem; can anyone give some advise on how to adjust the clutch on a kioti 3054? grsthegreat said it is a simple repair; getting my tractor to the shop is not simple! So I'd like to try it myself. What do I do?

I searched and found some clutch discussions, but nothing with pictures.

At the left end of the clutch rod, there is an adjustable fitting. See photo. Loosen lock nut at right. Remove cotter pin and rod. Turn assembly clockwise twice. Replace rod and cotter pin, tighten lock nut.

Attach implement, depress clutch, slide pto engagement lever down. Engages as slick as could be. Works like a charm. Thanks to all for encouragement and support.
