I've literally been into town maybe 10 times in 30 years. It's like travelling backward in time. There was a Wagner store in Damascus but that closed years ago. The store in Mt. Airy is still open but I've never been in it. I'll put it on the bucket list for post-COVID recon.

We have a Mt Airy in NC, called Mayberry.

The Mount Airy in MD is one of the least known. Seven states have a Mount Airy. Our town got it's name from a B&O railroad worker who observed (with Irish accent) "My, this is quite an airy place indeed!" I'm looking forward to wind power in the future.
