Now I need an excuse to drive 200 miles, with fuel at Obama-era prices…

I bought a Homelite 450 Pro chainsaw back in 1980. Came with a 36" bar also but I changed it to a 24". Cut umpteen cords of wood with that thing. I still have that saw; occasionally when a neighbor calls me to help remove a big tree I fire it up. Still starts and run perfectly after all those years. No forests in the part of Nevada where I live now so I'm using a pellet stove, not many occasions to cut wood these days.

They look heavy.

They are heavy. My Homelite 450Pro feels like it was made out of cast iron after an hour or so of working it. A few years ago I bought myself a Stihl MS261 with an 18" bar that is MUCH lighter and does 95% of my chainsaw work now.

Yup, my ZIP saw is heavy. But when I use it.... I just let the weight do the work, I just guide it. It runs a little rough at the moment, need to find a carb rebuild kit for it.

I had 2 of the blue Homelites. After buying my 254 I decided that I didn't need them so on trash day put them out on the side of the road.
They didn't last long.
Used to be able to buy a PH digger with gear reduction drive for them. I had one of those also but never used it. Supposedly they were great for drilling ice fishing holes but it was heavy!
