Grease Rubber Boots

Question should you use a needle on grease gun to penetrate the rubber boots on the drive shaft of a bx 2370. I'm not even sure if they supposed to be greased. Any help appreciated.

I would say no. Have never heard of anyone doing that.

The boot is there to keep dirt and water away from the u-joint.
