I am trying to buy an American made grease gun. I have tried everything I know, any suggestions? I phoned Lincoln, they no longer make any in the us, all made in India and Germany. Alemite is the only one that I can find who still make some in America, but mostly industrial type. I just need and want a everyday use type of gun, nothing special. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Doesn't surprise me in the least, but I'm not even sure we manufacture any grease in this country anymore. Question=== What do we make in America ?

I couldn't find an American grease gun at NAPA, I looked at Snap-On's website, the Blue-point line was made in China...I ended-up getting one from NAPA. It's pitiful a person can't even find an American grease gun....

Seems like the Western world has shifted their creative energies from making things that "do" something to more "financial engineering". Lots of products such as mortgage-backed securities, credit default swaps, etc, and hamburgers.

At least the USA produces some things. I'm not sure Canada even produces Eddy matches anymore.

Well, I spent the better part of all week long, in my spare time and what a waist. The only ones I found were Alimite, but like I mention earlier, there pretty much industrial, and very expensive, 300 and up.

It seems like a sell out to me, all our jobs are going to foreign countries, and going faster every day. For the most part it's all about the company making more money. This needs to stop.

To think all I wanted was a grease gun.

I know it varies with everyone but, with its demand for everything at the cheapest price, our societies have brought much of this on ourselves. I live in a small town and avoid the big box stores as much as possible. It is the same for trades such as carpentry, painting, etc.. I go with local tradesmen with good reputations and trust they will be fair. I suppose that is an advantage of living in a small town.

I am lucky because although not rich, I don't struggle to make ends meet. I realise many are not so fortunate and have to go for the lowest price.

There is a John Deere grease gun listed on ebay that may be old enough to be made in the USA. They are usually well lubricated:D and difficult to wear out.

I had the same problem, couldn't find an Alemite dealer locally, so I bought an Indian made Lincoln.

I don't know if Superior is still in business, they made grease guns in the US. I just sold one a few weeks ago, it was the squeeze type, didn't develop enough pressure to easily force grease into the loader joints.

The Indian made Lincoln isn't too bad, actually. I'm satisfied with it, though I would have preferred to find something made in North America.

You may be able to pick one up at auction, or by posting a want ad.
