I just bought a 1970s vintage gravely commercial 12 to replace one that was killed by my local tractor repair place (near an outlet mall outside of boston). This one has the horn and quick hitch on the tractor end, which I've never had before.

None of my implements have the implement side of the quick hitch. Are they modifiable? Is it still possible to get hold of the ?female? side of the quick hitch? Or should I just convert the new one over to studs or some such?

Any thoughts?

If I am understanding you correctly, you have an older commercial machine with a quick hitch and older attachments, not newer style attachments that use the quick hitch. Then just take off the quick hitch and bolt on your older style attachments. Don't use the quick hitch. You don't need it and can't use it. - Kris :)

Yeah, that's right. So no way of adding the quick hitch to the older attachments?

If you want to leave the quick hitch on the tractor, Gravely has a retro fit kit that goes onto the quick hitch and replicates the 4 bolt hole pto. It was made for tractors that you have to leave the quick on and you want to use the older attachments. It's not as good lubrication wise (you fill it with grease) where as when you attach direct to the pto the attachment gets oil from the tractor. It also makes the tractor and attachment longer. - Kris :)

I've no need to leave the quick hitch on providing there's no downside to taking it off. All I've got is the older attachments. I was just hoping that I could retrofit those so I could put attachments on and off with less cursing and shoving, but I guess I'm out of luck

Charlesaf3- There is no downside to taking off the quick hitch. If you used the retro fit kit you would really be cursing.
