Gravely 45445 Electrical issue

I can start it and it runs well, Kohler 16 Hp
Built in 88 or so...used to construct golf course on Cape Cod
Still kickin
When I start it I move the key to start then to off and it runs
To shut it off ....of course I turn it to on and it shuts off
I changed the wiring harness
I also changed the key switch
I'm at a loss here........any help is surely welcome........Paul

I installed the wrong key switch, parts manual says one thing
schematic says another, so I ordered the switch from Stens
We'll see tomorrow what happens

There are two basic styles of keyswitch used on Gravelys. One for a magneto ignition and the other for a coil ignition. In some cases the style of switch needed has nothing to do with the type of ignition that is used. The G series is a good example.
