Gravely 20G forward reverse clutch lining replacment

My 20 G is starting to not want to go forward. In looking at the clutches there is a chunk 2" or so missing on the circumfuremce of the reverse clutch. The froward clutch looks worn but I may be able to adjust it.
Looking on e bay I can buy a lining kit Gravely # 40692 for $40 or a clutch and ring assembly Gravely # 42482 for $190.
So the question is how difficult is it to replace the lining? Do you need a bearing press?

A bearing press is not needed nor is it even a good idea to use it.

There is nothing difficult about it. Just finding the right pop rivet gun can be a challenge.

There are holes on the backside of the clutch to stick a punch so you can remove the trunnion cup and bearing.

The cup comes off first and then the bearing.

Thanks when I ordered lining from Richard's they said to use a spacer so to not pull on the lining directly. Not sure what this is about, said they would include in box , just have to cut spacer to length. Guess I'll see when the parts come in.

The spacer is to install the pop rivets with a standard rivet gun. I had to hunt all over to find a proper pop rivet gun a few years ago. I finally fouind one at Sears but when I tried to buy one as a gift last year, Sears quit offering that model. I had to hunt for one on Ebay and found it.

I called Richard's after receiving the parts they explained cutting the roll pin to 3/8" or so. Installed the lining yesterday went very well.
