Grapple grapple

Built it. There's a big thread back there somewhere, sorry I can't give you a link to it. The entire project was a combination base frame with fixed lower tines, a hydraulic grapple attachment, a gin pole attachment, and a personnel cage attachment. Each of the last three attachments were made to fit the combo base frame, and the combo base frame quick attaches in place of the bucket of my loader.
Search the attachments forum with "combination base frame", it all should turn up. I have a lot better camera now, so if the old pics are not good enough to give you the ideas, just ask.

I got a grapple for my JD 4400 from AnBo.
I pop the bucket off and pop the grapple on, takes about five minutes. It has been a very useful attatchment.

If you don't mind me asking...
How much was the grapple? Did you already have an extra front remote? Is it a quick attach system? Any details you can give me would be useful.
Has the grapple affected the lift capacity of your FEL? It seems like it would be roughly 2X as heavy as the standard bucket. What kind of HP does your machine have?

I think it was about $3200.00. It does weigh more than a bucket, reduces the lifting power to about 800 lbs. I use a 1200 lb rear ballast block when using the grapple.
The JD 4400 is a 35 hp machine.

What is the lift capacity of your FEL? What type of hydraulic plumbing was involved?
I'm thinking of adding one of Anbo's grapples to my Kubota L3710, (39 Hp), with a LA681 FEL, (1500 lbs Lift).
I have the ATI quick tach system on my FEL so changing from the bucket to grapple should be quick.
What do you find yourself using it for most, brush, logs, rocks?

Thanks,

Jim Scheffler

That's not a grapple. It is the jaws of death! Man, what a handy implement. Looks like a lot of fun, too. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
