If you have the pallet forks with quick attach all you need is the plate that converts three point to quick attach

My question is regarding rear weight to counter-balance the grapple and its' load. I don't want to lug the bushhog around due to the length. What are weight boxes and where do you find them? The grapple has amazing strength, but with a load, the rearend becomes very light.

Attached is the counterbalance we made for our L4610. I really like it a lot because you can forget about what is behind you.

Things we failed to do on initial build:
1. Rear trailer hitch (we added later & so far has not pulled out)
2. We have since, added a trailer ball for our goose neck trailer also.
3. Since we have ours centered in the barrel, we had to knotch the concrete for the top link.
4. Our tires are not loaded, but we can still lift the back with the barrel on under some circumstances.
5. The barrel could be moved a little to the rear, eliminating the need for top link knotch & providing more leverage for the same weight or possibly make a barrel extension for more heighth & weight.

If you decided to do this, we suggest getting a car dolly from harbor freight or similar to set it on. We spread the wheels on our dolly to make it more stable. This also requires at least some concrete slab to store it on, but really takes the work out of hooking & unhooking. We use a long hay hook to move it and other implements (on dollys) to the rear of the tractor for hookup.

I thought that looked like a quick-attach set of forks....can I ask where you got or made the 3pt to QA conversion plate?

Skogen, already had the forks for the FEL with quick attach mounting. So purchased a conversion plate from Bradco that attaches to the 3 pt. Then with the top and tilt you can back up to the forks and mount it easily. An added benefit is that I can lift much more with rear 3 pt than with the FEL. For instance when bringing up firewood to the house I can lift a full cord of wood with the forks this way

Thanks M7040..It seems like when this discussion comes up and when wade through all the references to adapters that go from QA to 3pth (the opposite of what you have) it comes down to ATI and Bradco that make them. I had gotten more info on the ATI and went to order it but thought I had better put the hydraulic top link higher on the list in order to make it useful.

I can't seem to find info about your adapter on the Bradco site, have you seen it available digitally? Where are the pins that lock in the QA plate? on the ATI, they are controlled by lever arms that look just like my loader QA.

it is on the Bradco site. On this one there are two slide plates that are held by screws in slotted holes that will lock it in place after lifting it up. Works very well however levers are easier than having to using a wrench. Is the ATI similarly priced?

OK ...now I see on the Bradco site....I was looking for something with levers.
The ATI was quoted to me at $750 incl shipping this summer.

I made a 3pt counterweight from a surplus cattle feed tub.. some scrap metal stock, and assorted hardware, and bolted it to a 3pt drawbar, then filled it with 'crete.

was cheap and easy to make, and i can run 2 nuts of fthe bottom and reclaim the drawbar if ai want to ditch the chunk o' crete later on.

Based on some of your input, I purchased a Kubota L5030 HST, FEL, with an Unlimited Fabrication root grapple. If you are near the Washington Metro Area, I can't recommend High View Sales in West Virginia enough. They are the best.
