Grapple Grapple bucket price check

Thanks in advance for your replies.
I have an opportunity to buy a 6' flat bottom grapple bucket, QA. Has twin hydraulic grapples (two teeth each, left/right).

Price is $800, presumably OBO.

Have only seen tiny pics, expect to go look it over Tuesday. Any ideas or suggestions? Other than a quick perusal, I haven't priced these before. Possibly a JD unit, otherwise no idea.

I know it will be relatively heavy, but figure if the price is right I can always turn it later if it is just too much, or not really what I was looking for (don't know if I really want a root rake, etc). Might even just be the parts for adding a grapple to my bucket and forks (one each, or dual mount so that it could be one each or both each).

I am going to add a couple of additional remotes anyhow (score on ebay last year -- about 90% of what I will need).

I paid 500 for one, that's an open bottom. Look on ebay for what they are selling for. Prices are definitely down. But 800 isn't a horrible price.

The two big factors are what machine you are putting it on and the weight of the grapple. The grapple probably weighs 800lbs or so...what is your lift spec?

I can lift 2000# or better. All depending on load center and rear weighting, etc.

Consider the alternatives. You don't say how you will use it. Do you need a bucket grapple or a grapple?

Markham sells new 48" grapples for about a grand delivered. You could add a grapple arm to your standard bucket for $350-600 and save a lot of weight.
