Are there any add-on grapple kits out there that I can use w/ my FEL? I need a grapple but do not want to buy one as I will need it for a short period of time and may hardly use it again. I heard somewhere about a bolt-on kit that attaches to the bucket. Any help is appreciated. I have a Branson 3820 w/ FEL.

Bill the photo looks like you're in the process of installing it. How has the grapple worked out for you? I have a few trees to move and some brush work to do. Right now I'm waiting till I can justify a millonzi grapple, but those look pretty nice. (and inexpensive).

I have the Wiko add on bucket grapple (first link in Amigauser's post). I chose it because it is relatively easy to put on and take off. I set it up to operate with the bucket tilt control via a diverter valve. I found that a toothbar on the bucket greatly enhanced my ability to buck brush and pick up logs with the grapple. I have a lot of this kind of work, so I couldn't do without it.

I think the add on kits are a pretty good value and efficient way to add grappling capability but if you really think you will need the grapple for only a short time, perhaps you should consider getting a true grapple and then selling it. There is pretty clearly a market for used grapples with quick attach as every Bobcat owner is a potential purchaser.

Grapple kits tend to cost about 2/3rds of what a low cost basic grapple costs. You can make up your own "kit" for less money but you'll need some fabrication/welding skills to do that.

Bill, I attached a similiar grapple to my bucket this year. Within days I noticed the top of the bucket couldn't handle the stress the grapple was delivering. I had to weld on a 2" X 2" 1/4" wall tube the length of the top of the bucket, then attach the grapple to it by welding it on also. The tops of most buckets were never designed to be used with a grapple.

I just oredered one from Dehner welding. I plumbed my remote to the front. Cost me about 60 bucks. I been reaching for that remote lever for 5 years now with no problems.
