GR2120 Yea or Nay

When I hit the button to keep blade turning while backing I noticed it will not turn off when pressed again. Don't really understand this feature. What advantage is there to not having that on while mowing.

Haven't had a problem with the lift lever sticking.

I did talk to my dealer regarding the new hub. As I expected, the "side" bolt" is the new shear pin. Since your unit came with it standard, do you have a part number for the shear bolt & nut? If you do I would appreciate knowing what it is. (On mine it looks like a grade 5 bolt...)

'Reverse Mowing Awareness', or something like that. It is a safety feature. I suppose it is to make you think twice before mowing in reverse so you do not back over and mow over you neighbors kid, or somehthing like that. Very easy to bypass. Send me mail if you are interested. Philip.

Took the back cover off and squirted lube on the linkages and spring. The lever goes back to neutral now after raising the deck.

I havent looked in the blower manual where it lists the part numbers, but this is what they told me on the phone
The Fan sheer bolt is 7006004465

BTW.....after 6.2 hours of cutting, the tank is still half full. Love how far diesel goes!!!

Hopefully I was able to attach the photos of the new Fan and Hub assembly. As you will see it is quite different. The shear pin is still the same. Also I added a shot of what you have to "look forward" to. Good luck with the new orange tractor.

Where did you buy the Cab at? Did you have to drill a bunch of holes?

The cab is from "Original Tractor Cab" Original Tractor Cab. You can find their products sold either directly from them or other online sources. Installation is fairly easy, no holes to drill. It is a custom fit for the GR2120. I had the same brand cab on my old Toro 520H for over 20 years and it was still like new when I traded it in. The new cab has some nice improvements. I did get the glass windshield on the new cab with the manual windshield wiper. It is a pretty good option but you can definitely live without it.

The cab is really great. The only minor issue I have is due to the reverse air flow on the GR2120 it tends to suck in snow at the door seams... My old tractor was just the reverse and blew all the hot air into the cab which was very nice. Anyway, this season I plan on putting an air vent in the back of the cab to reduce that problem. Just wish their was an easy way to vent the heat from the radiator into the cab. Need to think about that a bit. Note: I have more pics of the cab posted on Orangetractortalk...

It will take a little work, but you can get a pusher fan from Multi-Wing that will blow hot air into your cab during wintertime. You will have to remove fan, measure, and provide details, but they can make you a new fan. I would not use it for summer operation though. Philip.

I bought a new 2014 Gr2120 with 54 inch deck. Only complaint I had was wanting a bumper, which I ended up adapting off my Gt5000 sears. I mowed all summer (live in a woods ) and loaded my leaf vacuum a slew of times. The mower pulled hills good , never slipped a tire going up hill and went down steep hills without sliding or speeding up. It pulled my loaded leaf vacuum trailer without straining its self. After a summer of mowing and cleaning up leaves, I just hit 50 hours, so next item is oil and filter change. Can't say how long it will hold up, but no problems so far, and it just sips fuel , Very happy owner ( I am still trying to figure out how I picked up leaves ( filling trailer every 1/2 hour, and having to go back in woods to empty it, and cleaned up my complete yard of leaves in less time than it takes me to mow the same area )

End of season two with mine. Just about 100 hours. Did the fifty hour service myself. Will get a engine oil and filter change before spring. No issues at all, very nice machine. HS
