When I eventually trade up from a sub compact to a compact tractor (i.e. 3030 or 3240) I will be in the market for a smaller unit (possibly BX1850 vs. G2100 or something similar). Wondering if anyone has an opinion regarding the BX1850 vs G2100 when used strictly for mowing fairly hilly 2 acres around the house and maybe some light towing of a garden cart (no need for FEL because I'll have that on my larger unit). Have a BX2230 with 60" deck FEL and bagger it is nice for mowing unless you have trees with low branches or tight areas. Use the G2160 for areas next to house and under the trees, really liked the GR2100 but the problems they had with them last year stopped me from getting one and got the G2160 with the cast iron hydro. Salesman at dealer said he thought they may of replaced some bushings in trany on the GR with bearings to solve the problems, we will see I guess.

Then it dawned on me why not get a Kubota G or GR Garden tractor to replace the CC as it should be smaller and cheaper than A BX1500 or BX1850 so off to my Kubota dealer I go.
Turns out the G and GR garden tractors dimensions are nearly the same as the dimensions of the BX1500 and BX1850 Sub-Compacts.
The Kubota dealer doesn't even stock the G or GR GTs because he says the BX1850 S=Compacts are a lot more tractor for about the same or less money than the G and GR GTs.
Since I wasn't saving anything in size or money with a G or GR garden tractor I stuck with my plan to replace the CC 2554 with a BX1500.
I lucked out and found a new BX1500 with a 48'' mmm for $7650.
Kuboto approved the 0 down o % financing for it yesterday.

Ya got the same thing going on with JD between the x700 series garden tractors and their 2305 Sub=compact.bx24d said:

A big advantage of the BX 1500 for me is I can use 3point attachments such as a rear finish mower , brush hog etc with it but you can't do that with the G or GR series.bx24d said:

If you did not follow the maintenance schedule to the T, problems could develope in the older GR-Series. The new ones address that problem, and make a few comfort and egronomic changes.
