GR2110 - I'm not impressed.

What dealer to you purchase from? I am located in AL and I owned a GR2100 at one point. I purchased it from Cahaba tractor in Pelham. I had a lot of trouble and they worked with me to get kubota to buy it back. I had the machine for about a year and I got nearly 90% of my money toward the purchase of a BX2660. The BX2660 is much, much better than the GR. The only thing I miss from the GR is the turning radius. I am very happy with the BX. I will never go back to a garden tractor again. The BX is a great compliment to my L3130. Also, If you bite the bullet get the loader you won't regret it.

Same dealer - been good to me so far. Possible exception - scheduled service costs on these machines seems rather high. Think I'll start providing the labor from now on. What problems did you have with your GR?

Any problems with your BX - what options did you add? Care to share any pricing info?

The GR had lots of transmission problems; power-to-the-ground, oil leaks etc.. I have a hilly lot and it could not pull a hill with the bagger. When I got the BX2660, I purchased the tractor, 60" deck, loader and grass catcher. On the pricing, the best place to compare pricing is with Beshear Tractor out of Anniston. They have the best pricing in the State. Rusty is the sales guy there. I got a pretty good deal on the BX from Cahaba but it was about 800-1k higher than Beshears. But, since they went to bat for me and got most of my money back from Kubota, it made up the difference and then some. If I had to private sale the mower, I would have lost much more.

I bet lots of folk would like to change "colour" if the loss wasn't 50%
on a hardly-used piece of machinery ..... JD has the up-side of marketing
a huge range that doesn't necessitate Brand change , and I can see

I agree that R4's would be a must if you plan on using it in the woods. Really R1's would be better but you can get by with R4's and will be good for the lawn work also. I would definitively skip the turfs.

Sorry- I disagree. I love my turfs. I personally like the turfs. I never really needed r4's even when I got stuck in mud when driving down muddy trail. I just used my FEL to crab out and kept going back in different manner. I use my turfs year around, snow, mud, dry conditions. I have chains for those really muddy clay driving. The OP mentioned he is getting it for cutting grass, and it would be nice to have a backup for other implments. He already got another tractor so no need for R's tires.

I agree the R's are stronger, but turfs doesnt get flats from mowing, snowclearing. I'd say stick with turfs since you already have a bigger tractor for those real tough jobs.

Some people think they work better in the snow and in three years, there is only about 2 or 3 times I was working in mud that was so bad I wished I had a different tire.

My B7100HST was better in snow on turfs than my heavier B7610 is with R4's. I picked up some used turfs this summer, and will be filling them with WWF and putting them on before the snow flies.

Plus, IMHO, chains work better with turfs (than R4's or R1's), as they don't fall down between the lugs.

Always appreciate the feedback I get from this board - if it only came with a molded cab and A/C. My wife is slowly getting comfortable working the L5740 - doing simple stuff (e.g., cutting the fields). With a like equipped BX, no telling what she might get into - trying.

The lamp is lit - BX2660 purchase dealings starts Monday. Kubota made an offer (communicated via dealer ) that no one would/could refuse.

Although lawn growth has slowed considerably, first add-on is a MMM. Haven't decided whether I want a 54" or 60" - have some narrow spots around the house.

Will definitely add a 42" rotary cutter - have a lot of grounds cleaning to do in the woods this fall/winter - the BX, because of its size, should work well at doing such work. Although I've thinned out a number of trees (mainly sweet gums), I want them to remain woods - not a city park. I've worked my L5740 in this regard, but it has its limits.

To supplement the above, would love to add a smaller 4'-5' ANBO grapple (GR-L or GR-M) to the mix. For this, I'm going to need a FEL - don't really have an immediate need for the attached bucket though. Of course, its purchase would be cheaper now - rather than later. Really wish the LA243 loader had a quick attach up front (vs 3 pin knockouts).

Remotes for the rear are an option I'll go for. Will be adding a Land Pride Cat I Quick Hitch and perhaps a TNT (if I can find one). If not the latter, a hydraulic top link, for sure.

Wished Kubota offered a third function option on the BX - would be most helpful if I go for the grapple. The control stick in my L5740 is a easy handle, the loader stick on the BX, however, reminds me of something out of a old truck.

As I will be doing some immediate/extended work in the woods, plan on fitting BX with R4's. Depending on quote from dealer, might add a set of mounted turf tires to the package - to be used next spring.

What have I left out. Wife really likes the deluxe seat on the new BX2660. It's much like the one in my L5740 - she prefers sitting straight up and the added secure feeling she gets with the added armrests. Should I add a small rotary tiller for her to play with - for those sure to come flower beds? After 40 years, I've learned that keeping her busy outside, gives her less time inside to think up things for me to do.

The B2320 is not horribly more money. $1500 in the real world. Must also remember there's more sales tax on that increase. The B2620 would be $2200-$2500 more in the real world, with the additional tax.

The B series isn't the handy, nimble lawn cutter the BX is, though certainly, absolutely, positively more capable in the woods for a host of reasons.

Since the OP started this saga with a BR, going up to a B would be quite a journey in both size and price. :laughing:

If this was going to be the OP's only tractor, I'd definitely say go for the B, but OP already has an L. The BX's main job during mowing season is just that, mowing. In this case, I'd go for a B (just MHO).

I guess we'll stay with our GR2110, but, I'm not as happy as I've been with other Kubota products. I just wish they'd recall the tranny and replace it with a good one.

I have owned a GR2110 for about 3 months now. It has been top notch. Smooth, even cut, lots of power. Will climb straight up and is very comfortable. I'm sorry to hear about so many others that have not had this experience. Hopefully Kubota gets the issues worked out.

As some of the other reader know, when I got my GR2110 I was fit to be tied. The dealer even swapped mine for a new one that was no better. But the problem was, it wouldn't climb hills and was too slow. They fixed that problem.
But the mowing has always been great.

I've already looked at them via their web page. Showed a picture of one to my wife this afternoon - she thought it was cute. Winter is around the corner - so I'll see how it goes without one - perhaps in the future, but not because it's cute.

reverse speed. as i see it.
The fwd pedal on the gr2110 moves the linkage by the fan blade further than reverse. thus more pump pressure for fwd. The direction is the same on the linkage pump mechanism to compare pedal stroke in fwd and rev.
It appears the stop bolt under the reverse is restricting travel .Should be able to adjust the reverse pedal stop bolt under the pedal and re-adjust the switch that the pedal hits in reverse getting more speed. But check with a dealer to see if this is a safety issue for speed. i like to see how things work ,and this is only my opinion.
