GPS Tracker for a tractor

It was definitely a head scratcher to figure out where to put the straps. I tried every angle that I could think of, and then some.
The end result looks great to me. How would the weight distribution have been if you backed the tractor on?

All the best,

Peter

I thought about it because I hate backing a tractor off of a trailer, but because I had the 6 foot rotary cutter on it, I didn't think it would work. I placed it on the trailer based on watching my the bed of my truck sink. Too far forward and I was bottomed out, too far back and it was in the air. I just played with it until it looked right to me. I've never towed a tractor this big, and I never plan on doing it again with a half ton truck. I'm going to have to buy something a lot bigger in the future!!!

My other concern was the canopy. It's 63 miles each way, and speeds where into the 70's on parts of the road. I decided not to drive on the Interstate because of the number of crazy people zipping in and out of traffic, and the big rigs that are trying to pass each other, that cause so many backups. My concern was that the wind would catch and flip the canopy, or bend it. I have no idea if that true or not, but I decided to trust my gut and remove it before loading it onto the trailer. I unbolted it and helped control it as it tilted down, onto the steering wheel, and then down between the seat to the floor. From there, I was able to slide it to the ground, and then carry it to the bed of my truck. I put the loader bucket and rear hay forks in my truck bed too.

Getting the canopy back on by myself required the loader on my Massey Ferguson. That turned out to be pretty easy once I got it in place. My wife took my picture as I was finishing it up.

I totally missed the rear mower. Watching your pickup bed is a wonderful, and I think accurate way to get the load point right.

I think that those were great calls to remove the canopy, and use the side roads. Always nice to see a mechanical repair go smoothly.

All the best,

Peter
