Got my New 4760

Just got my new 4760 thanks for all the great info on this site.I have only put 3hr on so far and its has a lot more power than my tc40da did but my tc was a great tractor very few problems in the 8 years i had it.So far loving the cab had the ac on yesterday and the heat on today love NY.

Mine only has 10 hrs on it (just got it) but really liking it so far. I almost bought the l4760 but decide to go for a cat I II version. Probably doesn't really matter, but it got stuck into me head and the price was so close.

I don't have a cab, but it seems like the L60 has a nicer cab setup than the L40.

I didn't realize that they got rid of the clutch, I use it on mine frequently when starting heavier pto implements like the brush cutter or hay rake etc.

The farmer that farms part of my place asked me a while back why my tractor had a clutch (being a hydro) and I really didn't have a good answer as to what it would be used for. Really it's just a personal preference, I'm just more used to a clutch.

Yeah, I guess it is just what you are use to, my L5030 then L5740 are the only tractors I have ever owned with an Independent PTO that was affected by the clutch, so it just never made any sense to me on an HST. Our 8540 pulls a pretty heavy ten foot cutter and I just let it idle down to a reasonable RPM and engage the PTO, have done the same thing on tractors as old as in the 60's and never had a problem yet. I did like the system on one of our Case tractors as it had a notch you moved the lever into and left it for several seconds to let the cutter begin to spool up before moving to full engagement.
