Got a "yucky" story?

Been on a few bad scenes as a FF/EMT.

Besides that, probably #2 diapers.

Yeah, I've had to call out the pumper truck on a few scenes to clean up the mess.

I had a dog come in with maggots once at the vet clinic where I worked in college. Poor thing was infested so badly that you could actually see into her abdomen. The smell was the worst. It was like rancid feces and rotten flesh combined with bad cheese. I can't recall right now whether we saved her or put her down.

Well, how many of you have walked into your house and smelled something "funny" only to find it was stuck to the bottom of your shoe?
Or, ever get up to go to the toilet at night, etc., and as you walk along barefoot, you step in something squishy from your beloved pet?

I had a fellow crane operator fall into a 15000 gallon septic tank on a site one time. It leaned and almost hit the boom on te ground. While taking the boom off and gantry sheaves and the backstops we had a laborer a little older than me that was hopping all over the downhill side of the machine. I asked him to move out of the way when we got te last pins out and was swinging it out of the way. He had been standing there on the frame of the machine when the swing brake slipped and the laborer lost his footing and hit fell into lake Lottahockey all that was out of it was his red hard hat. Needless to say he road back to the water truck in the bucket of the loader.

The worse smell my younger brother thats an RN had and it made me sick from im telling me and made me glad to work in a rubbish landfill. He was telling me of a woman that had gotten depressed and laid on her couch and for almost 2 years stayed on the couch. she had a bed pan her son dumped out and never cleaned and the woman ate and slept and watch tv there. THe hospital had called my brother from his floor since hes prety good sized to help get her in the ER. She had actually grown to the couch the EMT had to cut the cushion covers off. He said that almost made him sick.

I was gonna tell something too...but,dang...mines not so bad afterall.

oh, Ok, if you twist my arm :). I was going to work one morning with my father in law about 30 years ago. Just to tag along and enjoy his company that day. He lived in Walburg, Tx, just north of Georgetown and worked in Austin ,40 miles away. It was maybe 6AM when we arrived in town. He set his FULL 32oz. old Dairy Queen makeshift spit cup on the dash when gassing up.....forgot about it...then took off quick to merge with traffic. It spilled all over me,head to toe. I had to wear it the rest of the LONG day.

It wasn't mixed correctly, and it looked just like a big slab of chalk. You could break it apart with your hands.
The gasses in sewer will detiorate concrete and especially mortar. Septic is far worse than municipal systems due to the higher concentration of black water to grey water. Go inside an old brick and mortar manhole and you can wipe the mortar out of the joints like toothepaste.

Learned something new today I did not know that sewer gasses would deteriorate concrete.
