Gorilla atv winches on E Bay

Has anyone here (besides me) tried their atv winches.I bought 1 about 6 mo. ago & have used it alot . Have had no problems with the winch. Alot of winch for the money !

i guess that mean you got stuck alot .lol i never seen them before i'll have to check into them . i was plannin on gettin a new winch for my hpx and movin my old one to the top rops rack for pullin stuff up into the bed of the hpx.are the made by the same people as the gorilla axles?

I don't know who makes them.I talked to a guy that says that his company took apart a gorilla & a warn & there was no difference in the gears. I do get stuck alot. I also pull out others that get stuck. Whern there's enough rain we go mud ridding.I checked on e bay last night & I didn't see any 3000 # by gorilla .I only saw 2500 #. I have the 3000 #. So far it's been a good winch, cost alot less than a warn.

i found this sight on them http://www.gorillawinches.com/ they have a pretty cheap price. i wish they made a 4000lbs but i don't see any. thats the size i want to upgrade too.with all the things i'm addin on to my hpx it's startin to way a ton and with a load in the bed of it man if i get stuck i'm gonna be in a bind with my warn. right now i have a 2500a warn and it is just makin itnow i'm knockin on wood right now but sinse i put my new tires on i haven't gotton stuck but when i do get stuck it's gonna be stuck good.i came close the other day it just kept diggin and diggin until it bit something hard enough to pull on but the mud was gettin close to my clutch enclosure venti thought i was gonna have to shut it down and winch it out.i plan on gettin a really good comalong for a backup.

I read somewhere that the rule of thumb is 1.5 times the weight of your vehicle will get you close to the size winch you'll need

When I had my 6X4 Gator I always intended on putting a winch on it but never did. Of course I didn't do much trail riding with it. I was looking at 2000lb winches at the time. Then when I bought my Polaris Ranger I was getting into more nasty stuff so I did buy a winch. I started lookking at the 2000lb ones again and then I saw what everybody else was using, 4000lb. I bought the Warn kit for the Ranger. Within a week of installation I had gotten myself stuck and the winch easily pulled me out.

with all the stuff i done put on my hpx it tops 1400lbs easy without the driver or a load in the bed. so i need atleast a 4000lbs winch. t5he last time i used my winch the hpx was stock and the winch done ok but i find it could have done better maybe. but now i wouldn't blame the winch if it failed to pull me out i think i would have to get into the hpx and put it in gear and help it out with spinning the tires.i am ordering me the alternator kit and i am going to put the alternator out of a pontiac sunbird in it that should give me around 90amps and with the juice comin from the hpx combined i figure a total of about maybe 100 amps maybe so i should be able to run anything i want. right now we are presently fabing up the overhead console that will hold the stereo and the power inverter so i can have my ac/dc juice on the go. because alot of times there are branches scross the trials and i can run my sawsall off the ac power. not to mention some halogen flood lights.and the extra juice will realy help out when i fire up the bigger winch when i get it.i already have two batteries.
