Yeah, yeah, I know. Pics will come after I get settled in. But my L4630HST arrived at lunchtime today with the Farmi 501 on the 3PH and the rear blade in the bucket. First impressions: it really doesn't seem that much larger than Clementine till I park it in a confined space like the garage...it barely fits! Smoothness and power abound! Must drill out the ROPS pins and replace them with hitch pins; unscrewing the ROPS pins got old after the first one came out. The 853 loader is incredibly powerful. It easily dug into and lifted huge chunks of ice that would have had the L3010 on the verge of stalling. The 501 winch is the same as the 351P, but larger. The HST whines in use, where the L3010HST did not, but it's cool. I really like the new deck and seat. The IntelliPanel is nice, but I'm not used to it yet. Traction uphill thru a foot of heavy snow was much better than Clementine, probably because of the additional weight.

The tractor was delivered in the middle of an icy rain that followed four inches of snow, so it's out in the carport with multiple halogen lamps melting the gunk away. I believe it is orange like all Kubotas, but must melt the white off to make sure. I'm hoping to harvest a couple of maples this weekend before switching over to the HD rear blade and moving some snow around.

And I promise some pics!

Jeez, yesterday all you would have seen was a big hunk of ice!

Pic #3: Skidsteer style forks to make handling logs easier. Maybe someday I'll palletize our hay and transfer it pallet by pallet from shed to sheep pens instead of one bale at a time.

It's actually quite warm today. We hit 28F. Almost tee-shirt weather for us. Unfortunately, around here that means ice. Better to get cold and stay cold. 10F is nice for a high.

Besides, Vermont winters help prevent urban sprawl! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
