Ok, working. I should stop and grind the starts a little for the backstep but I sacrifice a little appearance by simply walking all over them at the finish. If the steel is heavy enuf not to warp up make the stitches longer for fewer starts. There is another patch on the other side, smaller and more minor and I patch a few pits with the welder.

Shield Arc, great to see you back. One arm typing just takes a little longer. Makes you less verbose. I plan to drop in on you soon. Are you answering the phone now so I can make sure you are home?

Note something about that circle weld above. You can see on the right I had it all going on and had intended on doing in in 2 steps but got on with it and did it all the way around in one and dang near burn a hole in one spot. Operator lost a little consistancy in a on the fly reposition but no lack of fusion. My helper sugested we could pressure test this job but we dont need to. Up under that flange simply ran it right in the root and the finish bead is 3x as wide as the joint was on 10 ga stock and simply be super hot and melting where we come in to the last start with a back step process.
