Good source for Kubota gray spray paint?

Hello,

I bought a John Deere iMatch hitch and need to paint it Kubota gray to match my 3 point linkage.

Anyone know of a spray paint for Kubota gray? I plan to just use a rattle can. I'm not crazy about buying the super expensive stuff at the dealer and thought there maybe a cheaper alternative out there.

Tractor Supply? I know they carry the Kubota Orange but I have never looked for the gray.

It might be more expensive but I think it's better quality... Thicker and shinier... JMHO.

Have used the Van Sickle Kubota Orange and the Case Power White for the under hood off white stuff but have not found anything for the Kubota Gray.

Rustoleum Charcoal Gray Gloss Enamel. Available from Home Depot.

I bought a can of gloss spray paint at Menards that matched perfectly, not sure of the name. If I find the can I'll tell you.

You won't like this answer but Kubota paint is the best--by a wide margin. I have painted lots of Kubota grey and Orange I and Orange II and the Kubota paint looks great even after being all beat up and sitting outside. The TSC stuff was all chalky and the others no better.
I am real tight with a $$ but I have learned to buy only the best dealer paint available. After all the effort to get ready to paint something, I want it to look nice for as long as possible. Took me 25 years to learn that by the way.
Just my personal opinion.

Maybe it has been discontinued. The can I have is a couple of years old.

Cant be that expensive from the dealer, I went to mine to buy a can of the gray and the guy was busy with paper work and he told me thats all you need bud, take it!

I may stop by the dealer and see what they are asking for it. I'll probably need two cans for right now.

BTW... if I get Kubota's spray paint... who's primer do I use? :confused3: I know there's sometime compatibly issues with paints and primers. :confused2:

It's expensive because it's acrylic enamel and better quality. I just grin and bare it.
I prime bare metal with rusty metal Rustoleum primer and may or may not prime old paint with the same stuff. Parts do get scrubbed clean. howver, and the rust wire-brushed.

i agree with sixdogs....TSC paint doesnt last I took my old MF 35 to bare metal by sandblasting and now all the red is very pink/faded. When I restored my friends Ford I used TISCO paint with enamal hardner fo far so good

I bit the bullet and bought my gray from Kubota, but I was attaching right to the ROPS where a difference in shade would have shown up like a sore thumb..

I'm sure you could come pretty close with another brand, but as others say, I think the Kubota paint is better quality.
