Good riddance L2800, Hello L3400

I've posted several times reguarding my purchase of an L2800 a couple of weeks ago. Well after trying it out, I've decided to take the dealer up on his offer to let me trade up to an L3400 for the difference in $$$$.
My L2800 was having a difficult time pulling a Woods RD72 finish mower. I tried another L2800 on the lot that seemed to pull and cut a little better but it didn't have filled tires and a loader adding 1200lbs (????).
I don't know if something was wrong with the tractor or if it is just underpowered for what I want to do....mainly mowing.

So did they determine that there was nothing wrong with the 2800? I remember your post some time back about the problem with the mower.

Was your 2800 a gear drive or a hydro? It's good that you were able to trade up without getting spanked.

My B2710 (27 hp/ 20 pto hp) pulls a Woods RD7200 just fine.
Sounds like a bad tractor to me.
Whats the hp on the L2800?

We couldn't really find a problem, the dealer thought something might be wrong with the hydro transmission but I drove another L2800HST on the lot with similar results so I think the tractor may be a little down on power for its size.

These are all rough estimates but I believe the tractor weighs about 2800lbs. You add the loader and filled tires and it brings the wieght to about 4000lbs. Then the mower weighs about 700lbs and your talking 4700lbs with 22.5HP at the PTO. I think the B2710 weighs alot less.
