Price Check Good price for used 4310?

J.D. dealer has a 2003 4310 4WD hydro w/ 430 loader for 17,500. I have already been approved w/ deere financing. I am going to look at this tractor tomorrow and if pleased may purchase it. Tractor has 230 hrs. and dealer says still has shiny paint, few scratches, and remaining warranty till October. This will be my first tractor, so I am not sure on price. Based on equipment traders,ect. it seems to be a fair deal but not a steal by any means. Any advice on this would be appreciated. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sounds kinda high to me for 230hrs...I bought a 4310,300xloader and a frontier 6'rfm for 19,200 about 2 weeks ago from a JD dealer in blount county Alabama. It had .2 hours on it ! I'd offer in the $15k range,and be willing to walk if they don't bite. But that's all up to you and what kind of shape it's in, and the service, and support quality of the dealer.

What is their price for a new one? I would think $2000 less than a new one would be fair.

I tend to agree with RjPilot. I recently got a 4310 with 42 hours on it with the 430 loader for around 17K. It was basically brand new and they gave me all of the goodies for the 50 hour service.

I'd be interested in the type of work that it saw in those hours to determine if it's been taken care of or beaten on. If it's been beaten on, I'd lowball lower. Of course it's at a dealer... I'd lowball, walk out (tell them you're going over to the Kubota dealer) and check back with them until you can get them to come down a bit. JD Dealers are all about buying market share when they can...
