Tractor
JD318, Power-Trac PT425 with scuffed-up green paint.
Greetings, Tractor fans.
I am a newbie with a couple of acres. I am considering a JD318 "arguably the best L&G ever built", I've been told. I have located one locally with the following specs:
1987 model
690 hours
50" deck
Asking $2400.

Is this reasonable? Do you have opinions on the tractor? I would like to get a small front loader (see http://www.johnnyproducts.com), as well as a cart and a bagger. What do you think?

Thank you kindly - Rob in Oregon.

Not a bad price, but not cheap. I don't think it has power steering so wouldn't think of a loader for it (if that is true). Minimum would be a 400 (if you want one in the older years) or one of the newer 400's (425, 445, 455) that have PS. Next then would be to get into the present x400's and x500's to get a much better loader system (quick tach). Even better is the 2210. But now the price has jumped to about $10,000. So that said, you might just want to dream about the loader or just call it a toy (that's fun too!). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
