Good morning TBN! Snowed off and on all day here yesterday but amounted to nothing. Above 20 degrees here now which will remain and snow returns on Friday. I got camp stuff prepared yesterday and since our Kodiak atv is now spoken for, I made inquires for its replacement. Hope everyone's health remains good.
Did the Kodiak give you problems or just not enough power?
Good morning! 31˚F heading to the upper 60s with sunny skies and wind shifting South.
Completed long trip to Texas Medical Center in Houston to visit BIL's Family at the hospital. I didn't want to deal with the construction on I10 so I took hwy 90 in. BIL is hanging in there after three surgeries in 3 days. Still two or three more to go. He had a hard time waking from the last surgery and there was a scare that he might have had a stroke. But with more wake up drugs and the encouragement from his stepdaughter he woke up and moved his fingers and toes.
On Sunday he hit the 18wheeler's trailer on the front edge as the truck made an unyielding turn right in front of him no time for him to even apply his brakes. His face took the brunt of the force. The truck driver got a ticket.
Kyle if you could see him you would sell your motorcycle. You can control only your actions not the other drivers. His son is still having a hard time after witnessing the accident. He thought. his Father was dead not moving.
Don, Prayers for as near to full recovery as can be. Is this on your side of the family or your wife's? Prayers for the family.
Maybe 5 years ago, I went past a wreck on HWY 21 in Cooks Point, where an 18 wheeler had turned left in front of a mom and daughter driving the daughter back to school early in the morning (dark). They went under his tanker trailer and were decapitated in their mini van. The top had been peeled off like a tin of sardines. Another bad thing was, I had noticed maybe the same truck with the same company stickers on it (prolly the same truck) driving badly previously multiple times in the area. Driving fast, changing lanes in and out of traffic to try and go 5mph more than the posted speed limit. The company changed their name soon after that, probably to declare bankruptcy and not pay much of nothing.
I usually only ride the back country roads here in our county. average about 35mph. My bike has dual headlights, and I run them on highbeam during the daylight. I see some riders turn off their headlight, mainly because they don't want someone telling them what to do, and this is a sure fire way of getting hurt or killed. I don't care to ride on highways especially freeways on my m/c. In a year of ownership, I have maybe put 6-700 miles on it.
disappointed to be told by good local foreign car repair shop they could not work
on my lexus due to dealer only specialized tools. I thought due to right to repair law they had to offer
the tools to be purchased. They also have some specialized software, sounds like John Deere and big tractors.
I wrote back and asked the guy for specifics.
rapidly growing number of youtube videos out there showing packages blowing up on porch pirates.
it may make for fun viewing and clicks but it's both dangerous and illegal.
plus setting a boobytrap is definitely a violation of your homeowners liability insurance and they won't defend or pay.
An intentional act of harm is not covered, which is common sense. Umbrella policy won't pay either.
Going to need a lot of youtube clicks to pay for your defense lawyer.
you can't fight a basic misdemeanor theft with a felony injuring...
personally I think a good taser shot for thieves would be good
So now they will start stealing 10x more, hoping to lawsuit a protective home owner? Fart spray and glitter bombs aren't going to kill anybody, but I could understand not putting a real hand grenade in the box. This ain't Britain. In Houston, a 78 yo man got off from shooting 2 thieves that were stealing his neighbor's TV. It was a long drawn out trial. Both thieves were illegals. We need more jails and REAL judges/DA's.
