Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 43° heading to a high of 55° and clear. Storms forecast for tomorrow afternoon.

Week was eventful holding the fort down by myself, delt with two outages and being the only "Corporate brain" available. I swear, some people can't manage to get out of bed without someone telling them to.

Otherwise, nephew and his dog have been rooming with the folks and I while his parents are attending a wedding. Dog has been more of a pain than he's been. He's quite the active little guy, keeping Grandma on her toes. I think she's starting to regret agreeing to this, it's more work than she remembers!

Picked up a few pallets from work, need to put the hurry up on stacking and getting it undercover as the storms are a-comin. Might shove off early from work today and do that.

Another couple houses on the radar that I need to get a look at, and I'm also going to get tapped for more firewood up north by Campground owning friend. Maybe I'll end up taking the splitter, but that remains to be seen.

If it's any consolation I didn't see the Northern Lights either.

Y'all stay safe out there and be well!
Prayers for all Ailing and Recovering!

Morning all, 38 going up to 53 and sun peeking through the clouds.
Starting to put up Christmas stuff, need to get lights up tomorrow, will see if the pole and hooks for the front lights stops me from needing to get out the 20" fiberglass ladder.
Also modding a few lights for the wife to replace the battery part with plug in floods.

Got the medical forms from the specialists office, must be 20 pages long, might take a while to fill in.

Also heard back from PA tax people, they say it takes 8 weeks for every change and they take exactly 8 weeks. Still have not got refund, maybe another 8 weeks

Switching insurance for the cars, will save over $200/month.

Be well,

Just a question.
Does the first couple of feet of the hose anchor to the reel in any way to avoid pulling on the copper bend when all of the hose is pulled off of the reel?
Not Buckeye, but in most situations you can use a piece of nylon utility cord to just tie the first wrap to the end ferrule, or to the spool itself, to prevent the first turn on the spool from ever un-winding. The friction provided by keeping that first turn on the spool should vastly reduce any pull tension on the ferrule.

quick and easy shot this morning, hurt a little but not enough for sedation.

waiting for temps to get above 50, then will work on my list.
I got the new plug for the solar charger done, need to set it outside and put a dvm on it, make
sure it's working. Also need to find where oem solar controller is, hidden on top of some hard to get at cabinet
I'm sure. 100W panel should keep everything charged while in storage.
guess I need to find a security chain to lock it to something.

am really looking forward to getting car in the garage. Left side of lexus totally covered in some kind of tree sap, little
sticky dots that will be a real pain to wash off. Might even take it to car wash and save some effort.

interesting article about data centers driving up local electric rates.
don't know why but this relates to you guys in Virginia and Maryland for sure.

just makes no sense to unload this cost on general public unless deals were made.
Deals are always made...
Data Centers are a huge deal for this area. And yes, electric rates have crept up in recent years and are projected to double in a few years (I think I read two years) time.

The overall growth pattern though is also in play. A lot of people want to harp on datacenters but when your introducing 10's of thousands of people into the area, that also hits utilities.

Unfortunate but the deal in VA means electric utilities pass the cost down to all taxpayers for infrastructure buildouts.

Poured hot cup of coffee. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 57° with partly cloudy skies. Grocery shopping went good. Sure is a lot of Christmas stuff on the shelves. Topped off car fuel tank. $2.82 gallon. After filling fuel tank on tractor windrowed leaves on back field. Then cleaned tractor. Removed MMM and put it away for the year,
Going to wash windows today. Then blow all the leaves in to side field and woods from front yard.

28 and clear, going to 62 only slight wind for the first day in a week.

Dump run, hike and swim, and then patch the tube in my wheelbarrow tire.

Remember Hechinger? One of the original big box DIY hardware/home improvement stores. I shopped there before I had ever heard of Home Depot or Lowes. My sister gave me this Hechinger wheelbarrow as a gift back in 1985...thick steel, strong oak handles and a strong axle. Still has a few specks of their trademark blue paint on it. One of those tools I've become attached to.
My wife's first job (after we got married) was at Hechingers. Wasn't a good experience for her....

Sitting there looking at the fuel tank out of the truck and calling myself a big dummy if I don't put a new pump in while I have the tank out...Ordered one, should be here tomorrow.
After wrestling with it last night, and today's busy work day, I'm glad to have the night off "waiting on parts".

replaced the tank on the van not long ago. I can feel your pain
