Good morning!!!!

Like Don mentioned the dust, our drought is serious. Ranchers are having to feed hay already because their fields are tan and eaten down to the ground. I got maybe 2 or 3 raindrops on the windshield yesterday when about 40 miles from home. I believe the parched earth sucks the moisture out of the clouds.

I still have troubles getting things ordered at work. Makes my job tough. It is now a human resources problem and not a budget problem.

Mpham, a shiny corvette would be a great 70th birthday present. While I have ridden in many, I have never owned one myself. I would like a red wine colored one with chrome shiny rims. :)

Ted, the barn looks good so far, and hope the like new truck works out great.

Good Morning
43° and another nice day with a high in the middle 70’s.

Yesterday was consumed with the band, from loading in, playing for 4 hours, loading out and then unloading the trailer and parking it out back. It certainly doesn’t add to the fun that all the PA gear is stored on the second floor of my shop.
But the gig went well, we got many compliments, the promoter was very pleased.
Our old keyboard player filled in for the current one that couldn’t make it, and I really enjoyed his presence. He is a killer player, and he and I always locked right in.

Today I’ve off to Asheville for a pickup, should be home reasonably early this afternoon so I can try and accomplish something around here. I have a trip to Vero Beach on Tuesday, and then should have a couple of weeks of productive time around here.

40F clear sky maybe 60F for high.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Light sleep last night because of kitten snuggling up to me than they decided to wrestle  pretty sure nap will happen today.
Plans for today...town for critter food, chop blow leaves in front field into woods with rider, that time of year to remove anything might freeze and electric tools also trimmers saws from shed, might attempt putting rear tire chains on Kubota.
NH moose season started yesterday and Mrs. would like her HUNTING BY PERMISSION ONLY signs put up until Dec 1st.

🤞NY Giants need this win. 🤞

Enjoy your day all.

Morning all!
Looks like cold nights are back for the season! Woke up to 31 yesterday.
Wife and I came back from vacation Wednesday. We had fun but boy its good to be home!
We had planned on a few more stops but the shut down has all the national parks closed. Still got quite a few caves and parks visited in Kentucky. We also went to the Corvette museum and factory for tours.

Checked out a couple of possible 70th birthday gifts.

After that we headed to Tennessee for a bit.

All in all we had a great time!
Got home to a yard full of leaves. Wind was too strong to do anything with so waited till yesterday to get it done. Back pack blower, riding mower, yard vac and power broom were all utilized in the effort. Got almost finished when the hose on the yard vac split in pieces!
They sure do think highly of these! Couldn't believe the prices! Found the lest expensive option and ordered it to be here hopefully in a few days.
Decided to pick up acorns to finish out the afternoon. Filled the tractor bucket and the wheel barrow! Still a bunch on the ground!
Speaking of tractors. I finished the evening by removing the mower and doing this dastardly deed!

After that a much needed rest was taken before heading early to bed.
Not sure what will get done today. Surprisingly not that sore. No visitors planned so maybe I will play in the shop a bit.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
Looks like a great trip...not sure which NP you were planning to visit, but most NPs including Mammoth Cave, Great Smoky and Shenandoah are all open. Not all of their facilities are...some closed due to planned maintenance, and some due to shutdown.

For your 70th, get both of them! 😁

Good morning! 48F when I went out this morning, I guess my wood shed thermometer is broken:

More trailer overhaul today. Got the first half of deck framing needle scales, sanded, and primed before mowing yesterday:

Only minor surface rust, but it’s scattered everywhere. Gotta get a move on while it’s still warm enough to paint outside. Will get 2 coats of black gloss over this red oxide primer.

Winterdeere, just label the thermometer Wishful Thinking

yes today is the day to get things done outside, going to be dry and warm and then rain tonight.
made myself a nice bacon and cheese omelette for breakfast, which wound up meaning cleaning entire kitchen when I was done,
and then somehow started on the bathroom.
perhaps subliminal stalling waiting for it to get warmer out, but it just passed 50 so time to move.

back was a little sketchy this morning, put my back brace on for a little insurance.
time to go enjoy a little Fall

Morning all, 50 going up to 78 and sunny, calling for rain later.
Movie night went well, did two movies, closed up around 11.

It's been so warm here the roses are flowering as are some other plants.

Son and girlfriend joined us. So did neighbor and the kids. Friends shows up right around sunset.

A bit more cleanup today, but did most of it last night.

Good to hear from you LS, hope Dona gets some relief on the back, but great to hear the cancer is gone, praying it stays that way.

Feel better Buppies.

Today cleanup of the yard, son to train station and then off to the Keswick theater tonight. We might get there a bit early as parking will be a chore with a sold out performance.

Be well,

Yes, it's October, we have a bunch of ornamental trees and roses blooming...

70F and overcast @ 10:45, temps dropping from here on out.

No rain yet but very breezy and a wind advisory has been issued. Gusts of up to 45 mph are predicted. Possibility of thunderstorms as well.

Not sure what The Woman has on Her agenda for the day as She just rolled out of the sack, but I'm thinking today might be a good day to make pumpkin puree/pie filling and get that put up in the freezer.

I wouldn't complain if She could be persuaded to make a pumpkin pie either ... ;)

Beyond that just see what other mischief I can find to get into.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

Good morning! Low was 33° -- close to our first frost, but no cookie......
At least the wind calmed down yesterday. Today should be very nice.

Buppies, take care of yourself too.... Holly needs you.... and precious too!
The Ram truck is a crew cab. I would have preferred the mega cab with a longer bed. The crew cab rear seating area is way too big.... I'm 6' and can stretch my legs out straight!

Kyle, I am surprised that your area is so dry. When we watch our weather forecast, it seems that there are always storms showing there. We have had some decent rains in Sept and early October, which is very odd for this area.

Scott, you need to get a second home where it's warmer all year round..... that way you can keep the pontoon boat in service all year long....

Drew, glad the procedure produced a positive result!
How much are you asking for your RV? You can pm me or send an email. Might be interested.Don't work too hard planting those mums. They are one of Dona's favorites. We planted 6 more good sized ones this year, 4 of which placed around the pond.

Ken, nice display up the driveway. By the way, the driveway looks great after all the clearing you did.

I was able to get a few more purlins installed on the building yesterday, basically done with those. Today I am hoping to get the fascia done on the eaves. With the fascia done, I can get the roof on.

With that in mind, I have been contemplating my next step.... do the siding first, thinking the siding will reinforce the support for the roof.....
but, if I do the roof first, then the framing/ purlins will be protected from the weather....
But, if the roof is on, and no siding, then it becomes a giant parachute or sail....
I can use some opinions on the options....

Time for me to get moving....
Everyone have a great day!

Everyone should own a Corvette at least one time.
Mine was a 68 vette. Wife loved it. Would take it when she went shopping. 327 4 speed. Color was Marina Blue.
I had a 1971 and a 1985. Jumped to the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire and am currently sports car deficit. Need to remedy that!

My cousin and best friend both have red ones. 2024 and 2025. I'm hoping for the Roswell green. My 71 was orange though. Hmmm.

Today I’ve off to Asheville for a pickup,
That phrase has a different meaning to me, I almost bought a pickup once in Ashville, because it was thousands cheaper than in MD. But I bought something else instead, but almost went to asheville for a pickup......

all my vettes have been orange, 4WD with a FEL...... probably could have bought a vet for what I have in tractors, but tractors have done better for me.

good afternoon, windy with strong gusts 72 with rain in the FC this evening

While driving in forested area got hit with a fallen branch. Sounded laud and hit the windshield as well. Fortunately did not see any damage

Sanded some on the table with the Hitachi belt sander. Tracking was an issues and destroying belts. A new Makita one sounded good but decided to take another look at fixing it. Some gumming under the shoe plate and built up wood dust so got that cleaned off. Fixed the tracking issue but still destroys belts. Decided it had to be the worn SS shoe plate that was sharp at the edge from wear and found it amazingly enough to be available for 4 dollars and 6 dollars of shipping. Ordered that

Next dug out and cleaned up an old post vise to attach to the table. It weighed in at close to 100 pounds and unwieldy to handle but managed to move it down to the welding shop and test fit it to the table. I will have to make a steel plate for the post to stand on but except for that it should fit
