Good Tractor Afternoon,
do they make a heated key?
I can only wish Drew ! Actually I use a small Raddioodity key for portable ops. I don’t dare take me beloved Vibroplex out of the house 😂
I noticed that the rhubarb that we had been given last year that only managed to grow three four inch leaves last year
Ponytug, still have it growing up here in the mountains of Vermont but not for long 😉
You mean that Vibroplex key doesn't have heated paddles
Billy, I don’t dare take the Beloved Vibroplex out of the radio shack, that was $250 plus for that jewel 😃
On the homefront, Dona is still holding her own. No new symptoms of the lymphoma
God Bless Ted, Great news 🙏❤️

Good Tractor Evening Thomas,
You asked me a few weeks ago about the Vermont wells , in answer to your question, yes we have some wells going dry 🥲

Fortunately we don’t use that much water here, cooking and a shower and only being part time residents we have escaped that fate so far 🙏

Good evening With a high of 95˚ today I was surprised of the size of the crowds at the farm today. They were hoping for 6,000 today and lots of people were coming in after my shift ended, so I think they made it. Lots of full trailers today and next weekend will be the busiest.

It was a dust bowl today, of course it did not help that I took my EGO leaf blower to work to blow the leaves and white dust off the tractor, trailer, pig race seats and all the picnic tables.

Was invited over to friends house last night for supper, then we sat outside around a fire. Was nice.
Today was computer work while the grass was wet, then afternoon I worked outside, helped trim up a lilac shrub, used ranger to haul off stuff, mowed the front, used the BX to move left over stone that has been piled in front of my shed, put it behind the barn. Cleaned out all my spray tanks, 4 got rinsed out, mixed up and wife sprayed 2 gal roundup, then it got emptied, sevin sprayer got emptied, cleaned up the corner all the sprayers sat in. figured out why the last time I sprayed roundup it didn't work, I had used the sevin sprayer, thought it was the roundup sprayer.
Also took golf cart for a spin to gather SD card from the back camera. Got one tresspasser on it, just caught half of a guys face, and didn't get another pic of him. Lots of deer, including 7 in one pic. A nice buck comes out at night.
more computer work tonight.

A balmy 70F and mostly clear @ 21:00. Heading down to around 65F for the overnight low.

Rain due in tomorrow.

Got the holes for two gate posts on east fence line filled in to within an inch or so of grade and compacted.

After that decided to follow L4N’s suggestion and use the PHD to extract the stuck bucket in that one hole.

That worked great … even managed to not totally destroy the bucket …

After that got two more line posts set and braced on the north fence line, one of which was a gate post.

And then got those two holes back-filled and compacted to within an inch or so of grade.

Woman and I tag-teamed on all the tamping/compacting.

We were interrupted by a neighbor who came down looking for signatures … ostensibly as a Committee Man (“Committee Person” I guess, since she is a woman) to the County Central Committee of a political party.

The Woman signed … just to be pleasant I suppose.

I declined to sign … since she completely misrepresented what it was that she was doing … and what she was looking for signatures for … which I discovered when I asked for the paperwork to inspect all the pages and not just the signature page.

Not at all surprising.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 60° with off and on rain. Heading to 62° with continued rain. .76" rain since yesterday. Got photos taken before rain moved in yesterday. Did not much done after that. Response to Flu shot kept me inside rest of the day. Not sure what I will get into today.

Good morning, the low is 56 and going up to 68F. Wind SE 13 gusting to 22 mph. Rain possible T-showers.

I'm not doing nothin' today except conserving energy. Two negatives make a positive so I guess I am doing something. Conserving energy. ;)

Have a safe day all

Sunday always was supposed to be a day of rest in the farming community.
Animals still had to be fed and milked.
And then get in your nicer clothes and head out to some church.
and the cycle repeats.
something about being part of that cycle is very attractive.
gives an order and predictability to your life

right now I think our farmers are having real problems getting paid enough for their products.
Soy bean market out of wack due to politics,
wouldn't it be nice if someone decided to rethink ethanol and get it out of our gasoline?
that's a huge market for US farmers, they need something else to grow.
it was really nice to see the huge white cotton fields down in NC when I was there.
Nice to think that cotton could be going into my next pair of Hanes.
Grow more cotton and less tobacco, better for everyone.

when I first got to NC in the Fall I thought the locals were terribly trashy, all this white stuff along the road.
and then I realized it was cotton fluff.

Good Tractor Morning,
Vt, 48 to start going to 67. Last nice day before the rain comes in.

Took a nice long walk yesterday to visit my neighbor, it’s been a while since I visited. I call him Uncle Dave and his wife Ain’t Mary. Although they are not related, he has been very good to me since we bought our property up here in East Wells,Vt. We used to do a lot of shooting together but his health is failing a bit so not any more. He owned 25 acres across the street from his house and we had a 200 yd target range set up. Used to love shooting my 22-250 over there.

Today I need to get the trailer for the pontoon boat down to the marina. Next week the boat comes out, but we are planning one last cruise this afternoon. Also need to do a dump run this morning.

We are getting together with friends for dinner tonite, a restaurant down in Manchester. Equinox Inn I believe, sounds expensive 😉

Not much else, tomorrow looks rainy so probably some shop time is in order.

Yesterday I blew off all the grass and dirt off the ZTurn and discovered a mouse nest built over the engine cylinder under the cowl cover. I pulled it all apart to clean it out but when I put it back together I didn’t quite get the dipstick tube lined up correctly and managed to blow oil all over the inside of the engine area 😳🥲 I did clean most of the mess up but was not a happy camper 😉

Anyways hope all have a good day and remember not to do what I did yesterday 😉🙏

Morning all!
Looks like cold nights are back for the season! Woke up to 31 yesterday.
Wife and I came back from vacation Wednesday. We had fun but boy its good to be home!
We had planned on a few more stops but the shut down has all the national parks closed. Still got quite a few caves and parks visited in Kentucky. We also went to the Corvette museum and factory for tours.
IMG_2881.jpg
Checked out a couple of possible 70th birthday gifts.
IMG_2883.jpg
After that we headed to Tennessee for a bit.

IMG_2987.jpg
All in all we had a great time!
Got home to a yard full of leaves. Wind was too strong to do anything with so waited till yesterday to get it done. Back pack blower, riding mower, yard vac and power broom were all utilized in the effort. Got almost finished when the hose on the yard vac split in pieces!
They sure do think highly of these! Couldn't believe the prices! Found the lest expensive option and ordered it to be here hopefully in a few days.
Decided to pick up acorns to finish out the afternoon. Filled the tractor bucket and the wheel barrow! Still a bunch on the ground!
Speaking of tractors. I finished the evening by removing the mower and doing this dastardly deed!
IMG_3032.jpg
After that a much needed rest was taken before heading early to bed.
Not sure what will get done today. Surprisingly not that sore. No visitors planned so maybe I will play in the shop a bit.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

We had a great day at camp yesterday and now we got three of 4 dogs are tussling. We have the neighbor's dog along who's owners traveled down state for the weekend. We got lots of road clearing done yesterday and ate well. Had a nice fire going. We did buy and bring a used log splitter out with us and might try it out today. Hope everyone had as nice a day as we did.

Everyone should own a Corvette at least one time.
Mine was a 68 vette. Wife loved it. Would take it when she went shopping. 327 4 speed. Color was Marina Blue.

Way behind.

Good to hear Dona is holding. Prayers for pain relief and back fix.

Buppies, sorry you're feeling ill. Sounds like something really got you with fever too. Maybe go to clinic? Oh, I was glad to read you had a happy birthday. Prayers for you and Holly.

David, new tractor looks great. Hope it is a good one for you. A new tractor amongst us is kind of like a new baby. :) Do you still have your blue tractor?

Popgadget, glad y'all handled the flat tire as smoothly and professionally possible. Glad nose wheel wasn't damaged more.

I took my son and 3 of his tennis team friends to a men's tennis collegiate regional tournament. Wow, the level of play is intense. Many of the players are foreigners. Many languages being spoken from around the world. They get offers from colleges because of their skills, they come to improve their game, and I hope for a college degree. It was an awesome experience. Many of these players are already ranked in the world and will be the next gen to play for top championships. The tourney will last through Tuesday so I may sneak over to see a couple more games.

We are having a "pot luck" fundraiser lunch at church today. BBQ brisket is the main course, people will bring side dishes and desserts. My wife made a big carrot cake.

Prayers for our team, our nation, and peace in the world.

Good Morning TBN!!
Balmy 57 this morning with high pushing 80 until cold front arrives with rain and cooler temps.

Good day yesterday.
I finally got the buggy running! It's been sitting outside for a bout 5 years and hopes weren't generally high. Both wiring harnesses had some very critical info wrong. Like the coil. Finally started thinking outside the box a bit and it turns out that I had to change the wires to the coil that looked nothing like the diagram fittings. Also had to remove key switch and handle bar controls completely to get spark. Then a little bit of starting fluid and it sputtered. Put the gas tank back on and put some gas in it. Again not very high expectations. Got it started and running smoothly. Won't need to buy a carb any time soon.
I can crank and start without a problem. Only drawback right now is I have to use a remote start button and need to kill it with unhooking a coil wire. I can deal with that. Quite pleased!!
Thank you Popgadget for your advice!!
Also at the same time I got my new computer up and running w/out any issues.
Also later in the evening went to my GS mothers family for a Halloween party for an hour or so.
Came home and dropped it to bed
All in all a great day
Not sure about today yet.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!
