Good morning!!!!

Confused, if they left at 1:30 PM, and check in isn't until 3 PM, how were the previous couple late leaving?
checkout was noon
everyone should be out by checkout time
tomorrow's place is normal, check out noon, check in 1.

I've found the reasoning for this in some places they want to come in and both inspect the site and maybe leaf blow it before the next guy. Leaving a three hour window like this place does simply invites exactly what happened.
everything works if folks get out on time, particularly in high demand, always booked places like here

this is the first time in over ten years of rv'ing that I ever got to a site where someone was in it after checkout. Fact and I based expectations on fact.

I had to cross a covered bridge twice today. I think we still have more than a dozen within an hour of here, but like the one I crossed today, most are mucked up with all sorts of barriers aimed at protecting them from careless truck drivers.

One one-lane covered bridge that I used to use daily was badly damaged when a garbage truck driver tried passing another car inside the bridge. It ended up being close more than two years while it was rebuild (Army Corp of Engineers ain't fast), and then the township converted the access road to one-way, doubling my trip time to the grocery store just across that bridge. :(

I believe that in most cases these days, the Army Corp of Engineers will only agree to repair or rebuild a covered bridge if the township will assume ownership and maintenance costs of it, thereafter. At least that is what happened in our case.

Winterdeere was that a two lane wooden bridge? our local ones are little one lanes.
how could anyone pass? sounds like someone stopped and someone wasn't paying attention. Maybe they will make a movie...

little wooden bridges are lovely to see but not to drive rv's through usually.
there is a nice restored wooden bridge not far from Ken's home.
in the 50's parents would stop in middle of bridge. Turn the engine off.
not like there was any other traffic...
make a wish
and off we would go
silly but fun

Can you explain to me how it is that covered bridges come under the Army Corps in the first place? Is it a national historic bridge?

Regardless, I always enjoy covered bridges and looking at the often intricate carpentry that went into the engineering.

All the best,

Peter

Yeah this one was foot traffic only. Must have been homecoming for the local HS. A couple of girls we getting their pictures taken there in their gowns.

This one was wider than average, probably originally built for two carriages to pass each other, but had been deemed one lane for as long as anyone can remember. Two European cars (Fiat 500's, MG-B's, etc.) could probably squeeze by each other, but not a garbage truck!
