76F and sunny @ 12:30, heading up to around 82F for the day's high. Low this morning was 49.7F.

Ten Day now showing we have a shot (50% chance) of some rain late next Tuesday.

On agenda for today:

Dole out another week's worth of meds (done)

Give the dirt around the two posts I got set a little water. The top layer is pretty dry and is not compacting well.

Swap out the 12" auger bit for the 6" and see if I can't get the one post hole for the gate post on the east side dug out a little more.

Assuming that's successful, swap the 12" auger back on to clean out that hole.

After that I need to run the string lines between the two corner posts. Those will get used to align the line posts in between them.

Once that is done, I'll need to check inventory and see if I have any 4 x 4 posts which are coated on all 4 sides. If not, then coating those will be next up on the agenda.

First of the 4 x 4 posts to get set will be for the H braces. Pretty sure that I have no 8' 4 x 4's for the H braces coated at this point so will need to get on that.

In any event, will need to move the van and get the hay wagon moved over into the shade so I can work on posts.

Beyond that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ... (y)

Happy anniversary to David and Sophie !

Good Afternoon Steve,
Scotty this is rather disturbing I'm not seeing any Radio Time? :)
It’s more than disturbing, it’s down right difficult to be working in Vermont with no radio 🥲

You will see some activity by tomorrow evening, I will be back in Ct testing out my new Vibroplex keyer paddle 🙏

Good Afternoon to all who Celebrate! (Hmm...doesn't have the same ring to it) currently 76° and sunny and staying that way for the foreseeable future.

I touched down in Harrisburg at 1130 on Sunday night, didn't get into my own bed until 1 am. All of Monday was spent just recovering from jetlag and getting back on schedule. I see you all have certainly kept busy in my absence!

I forget who exactly, but I remember seeing a thread here about someone debating traveling to the Philippines. I can wholeheartedly endorse going! Everyone I met was friendly and welcoming, problems were quickly and efficiently handled. Filipinos really go out of their way to make tourists feel welcome and the islands are beautiful. I picked a weird time to go, off peak season. I managed to slip in between typhoons and out again. I'll include a pic of the girlfriend and I poolside:

(As you can see, she's seriously settling :p)

On the tractoring front, Yanmar was the most frequent brand I saw, though there were a few Kubotas and I saw an old Ford 5000.
They were bringing in the rice crop for the year in the province, and every now and then on the main road a truck would go by with a combine in the back. These were medium duty trucks, and the combines were all on tracks for working in the paddies. The farming seemed mostly mechanized, but every now and then you'd see a water buffalo still pulling a plow. Interesting thing, all along the roadside in the shoulders were tarps spread out and heaped with drying rice. My guess is that the combine couldn't shell the rice due to it being too wet, and they were trying to dry it to eventually separate the rice from the husk.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip and the hardest part was leaving!

Now I'm back in the catch-up mode at work, a major change over this Friday. Moving a whole store from one location to another which will be a treat. I'll get back on schedule with some firewood here at some point too, probably closer to the middle of October at this rate.

Y'all Stay Safe out there and be well!
Prayers for all Ailing and Recovering!
