65 and cloudy going to 77...maybe a shower.

Sorry to hear about Harvey...sounds like a terrible accident.

Nice day at the Carter Mountain Orchard yesterday with 2 yo GD and son and DIL and her relatives. Real nice place, on a small mountain overlooking Charlottesville with orchards, vineyard and barns on top...sort of a mini version of where Don works...fresh hot apple cider donuts...and apple-everything you can even imagine...tastings provided of different variety of apples, of course with all of them for sale right there if you didn't want to pick your own. Wine store, gift shop, food trucks, etc. Perfect 360 degree views of the Shenandoah NP, the piedmont and UVA area.

Then we went to their house for birthday party.

Home later to mow grass. We thought all of our hummingbirds were gone, but saw one while outside this morning. Maybe a migrator, but it sure found our feeders easy enough.

Final day of regular season major league baseball yesterday, so our fantasy leagues finished...all 3 of my fantasy teams won a trophy...virtual trophy that is! I hate to think how many hours I spent this season to win those.
Carter mountain looks to be the high rent district.... lol

Took our hummingbird feeder in after our return from our trip, and it was empty.

Hard to believe it's the end of Sept already, where did the month go?

It's on the same general ridge as Monticello, just on the other end of the mountain. Lots of big $$$ nearby, including the Trump Winery, Dave Mathews' winery, and Jefferson Winery.

always liked the song, never understood a single word that they were singing, never knew it was called September.
lol... yeah. I could always understand the first line, "Do you remember, The 21st night of September?" Then not much else until the chorus, "Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember? Ba-dee-ya, dancin' in September".

In fact, I had to look up "Ba-dee-ya", since I always assumed they were singing some word I just couldn't understand. :ROFLMAO:

Could that be water intrusion or condensation above the ceiling panel? (Armchair quarterbacking from a distance- the worst, I know)

All the best, Peter
There was water in there before, and I had to recaulk the roof seam. No sign of water this time, but looks like coming unglued. strip joining 2 materials in the overhead compartment also coming off, looks like it was only glued on, and the glue just dried up. We've had this camper around 13 years now.

Good morning TBN!!
56 going to 80 and chance of rain later.
R&R yesterday.
Probably more of the same until the wife gets home later. I think. LOL Been gone for about 8 or 9 days. Dog has been blue all week!

My approach is to try to get along with everyone, regardless of who they voted for or their religion or lack thereof.
We are more alike than we are different overall.
I still have my strong opinions, but I try to be tolerant of others, regardless of how vehemently I might disagree with them.
Amen brother!!!

Already had my second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

69F and sunny @ 11:30, heading up to around 82F for the days high. Low this morning was 54.1F.

Back into drought mode here, still not much likelihood of rain in the Ten Day:

OTOH, looks like a nice stretch of beautiful weather with above normal temps ... (y)

Got weeds along south fence line cut down first thing. Woman came out and helped gather them up and load them in the Kubota's bucket.

Then I took them and the 2 black locust saplings I pulled to the back brush pile and dumped them.

After that She helped gettting the string line run and then started on mowing down the weeds in the flower bed.

I pulled the rebar at the southeast corner and started drilling the post hole at the southeast corner with the 12" auger bit.

That pretty much went nowhere fast, so I swapped the 12" bit for the 6" and promptly sunk that close to it's full length. Stopped when it started to corkscrew and wouldn't come up. Probably got caught on roots.

Went up to the garage and grabbed a pipe wrench and then up to the shop for a piece of pipe to use as a cheater bar.

Bit was very hard to turn even with the cheater bar, eventually got it up by rocking the bit back and forth, lifting the 3PH and slipping the clutch.

After that I put the 12" bit back on and got the hole drilled close to full depth.

Sun was low in the sky at that point and She had went out and picked up dinner so I called it a day and came on in.

Arbs didn't get watered yesterday (or the Sunday before, due to all the rain) so giving them a drink is definitely on the agenda.

Also:

Finish up drilling post hole @ southeast corner.

Get the 12' round post for that hole set and braced, and maybe get the hole back-filled.

Trash/Recycle day is tomorrow so will need to collect those up and haul them up to the cans at the road.

Bird feeders need refilled.

Beyond that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ...

71°F and no rain

Highlight of yesterday was Sophie and I gave each other haircuts.

Off to Hilo town this morning. Neighbor Mike has generously offered his truck to pick up a piece of freight too tall for my Tundra with cap.

Happy Hour in town this afternoon

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day.
