good morning, 63 going to 73 rain likely in PM

Old growth walnut trees have carpet of walnuts under them and more coming. The new tree planting have about 1000 walnut trees scattered among other species and at 7 years old are starting to set walnuts. Pecans and chestnuts are plentiful this year as well

Worked some on a post in the barn using the screw jacks and shoring. Sandwiched it to existing post with 3/4 inch treaded rods that took out the buckle on the old post

Good Morning Paul,

Indeed they are, they are the two big players in the amateur radio market. There a couple others but Icomm and Yaesu have the lions share of the market 😉
Hey what about me I have 2 Kenwood TS590SG stations. One here at the house and one remote station @6500 ft on the mountain! Remote is digital only and I control it via a 5ghz AREDN 2 hop link.

indeed Steve,Kenwood , top of the line also but I do think that Yaesu and Icomm are the 2 biggest sellers. Although I will have to check into that ! 😉😃

Main reason I went to Kenwood was the free radio control and programing software they provide. I would buy Icom if I was buying new today though!

Steve,
BTW, don’t be telling my wife how much money I’m spending ! 😂
all lips on this thread are sealed...

now when you know what every acronym on every knob on your transceiver means,
in electronic crypto, there will surely be a quiz.

but does it have a Mars button?
or is that on the next model up?...
actually, what additional capability could you possibly achieve you don't now have?
how wideband is your wideband??

for example does it get all public service bands, can you listen to your local police on the digital end?
I know you are more on the long distance stuff.
of course some of that capability is antenna restricted.
I think the Mars button requires a thousand foot antenna. ;)

my understanding is lots of restrictions on transmitting but not many on receiving.
