slept much better last night, woke up without anything major hurting, which is nice...
will be a busy morning, off to get a quote from local Erie insurance agent.
my car insurance went to 1800 dollars for a six year old conservative car, that's just too much.
I'd be happy around 1200. Insurance jumped a lot and agent never called me.
That's how you lose business.

I ran our towns largest insurance agency for 20 years and felt that the ten or fifteen percent commission
I made each year on those policies meant I needed to call those folks each year and go over their situation.
Appears that is a dead idea anymore, everything is automated, no personal contact.
And that means no loyalty. Problem is I'm 75 and may be over the age limit to get the best rates.
Will be an interesting conversation this morning with Erie agent, who is well respected locally.

before that I go and get my hairs cut. Bagged up some tomatoes for lady who cuts my hair.

my roses continue to bloom, and every two days I deadhead and a week later more roses come.

Since I know Ted and Dona have a sense of humor I sent
this to them. Dona is a master crocheter, her house is filled with things she's made, including
a fish tank with crocheted fish in it, very cool.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 61° with light rain this morning. Heading to 69° with possible thunderstorms. .35 rain since yesterday. Getting to groomer yesterday was not easy. Freeway was closed because of a accident. All traffic directed to local roads.Took local dirt roads to groomer. Car is in bad need of a bath. Got neighbors tree cut up and moved to a area where they put other fallen trees. Not sure what I will get to on to-list today.

Great pix, BEF. That old one showing the deep snow is amazing.

Changed the oil and filter on the truck...hoping it will get me through the winter before the next one. Each time I change the oil, the skid plate gets heavier (so it seems). Yesterday was a real struggle getting it back up and positioned and steady while the other hand starts the first bolt, while lying under it with little clearance...I'll need to rig something for next time. Fortunately, the front of it has hooks to hold it, once you get them to catch. Everything else went well, so I'm happy.

62 with expected high in the upper 80s again. Still no rain.

Not very much yesterday. Seems to be the trend
I did take the leaf blower of a stroll. Kind of futile effort but I try to keep the drive clean when it's dry. They get very greasy when it rains.
Then shuffled some more stuff in the shop and resumed Grand tour binge.
More of the same today.

Time for a second cup

Good morning, the low is 62 and going up to 72°F. Wind E 8 mph. 60% chance of showers.

BEF, thanks for the pictures. I haven't been through the Dakotas since 1999 when I worked for Bison Transport.
I never got the chance to stop and check out some of the tourist spots.

I think today if the body is willing I will sort out the shelter where I put the army trailer, two trikes and mower for the winter. Do that and then stow the stuff away.
I'll let you all know how much of that job gets done.

Back on my usual sleep cycle. To bed at 0100 hrs and up at 0330 peeing then up for good at 0645 hrs. Power nap maybe later in the morning.

Morning all, 67 to 80 and foggy, got 1/2" rain last night.
We had a lightning hit very close and heard sirens, which is very unusual here, whole house shook. Much needed rain.
Went and used the blower to move the leaves out of the ditches around the driveway down to the road.

Peco announced they are going to redo the poles , wires and do a vegetation check/cleanup in the area and it will be disruptive. I guess they are tired of having crews here every month fixing the tree downed wires. They had tried wrapping the wires, but the Ash trees still go right through that. Mine are all removed that could hit wires, neighbors did not.

good morning, thunder storm yesterday about an inch of rain, more rain storms in the FC today and next few days

Driveway is covered in chestnut hulls making it tricky for Cody to avoid being hurt if stepping on them

Cleaned out the drain from the log cabin going under the driveway.
The historical survey called this the summer kitchen, spring house and found it to be built earlier that the first deed for the farm that dates to 1811
The spring originates in the basement and flows continuously year round and is at constant cold temperature that likely was used in the early days to cool food

Good morning TBN. Its foggy here this am which is the norm and humidity so high, NOAA calls it mist. Will my trailer deck dry this week? 60 out now and a high of 66 predicted. We are now watching the neighbors dog who are away on vacation so they had a couple of collage gals staying at there place, but Bella wasn't doing well and didn't seem to be eating or drinking much. The lower photo shows the family. So we took her in and took all mutts for a three mile hike last night and she was eating and drinking.

Drew, good luck with Erie, that’s who keeps jacking mine up by a lot each time. Been with them a long long time.
They did do me good when son totaled the Subaru, but seem to be making up for it.
