when food is over five dollars a pound, I start questioning its value.

From about age 3, the only cheeses my daughter would eat were those aged at least 3 years. We used to joke that she wouldn't touch any food costing under $25/lb., and that habit still holds today.

But given things like cheese, beer, cigars and Scotch aren't exactly daily dietary requirements, I never mind spending to buy the better variants of each. I'm not drinking that beer for my daily sustinence, it's purely for enjoyment. So if you're not getting maximum enjoyment from it, then what's the point?

I did spend several years in my 20's, having to choose between paying tuition, basic home repairs, and food. Back then, everything was figured in maximizing calories per dollar. I'm glad I'm past that phase in life.

I think a epi pen would be more important to have along, than Benedril.

Let me elaborate on this. While at the solo first aid course, the instructor said if someone has gone into an anaphylactic shock, they of course are not going to make a call OR take Benedri. But Benedri does come in gel caps which you can break in the persons mouth and it will be absorbed. That's what we carry in our 1st A kit.

Had a call this morning that my glasses were found then a few minutes later he realized those were his glasses and called back to give me the disappointing news. I guess he did not recognize his glasses because they were bent up like someone stepped on them.
