when food is over five dollars a pound, I start questioning its value.
particularly when it all winds up in the toilet bowl
I guess that makes me cheap
so my ten percent off coupon lets me splurge on my favorite cranberry walnut chicken salad
so that it only costs 9 bucks a pound instead of ten.
always think I should make my own. The place that does the chicken broiling there always has leftover/discounted
bulk pulled chicken for under 4 dollars a pound. Would probably be healthier too, make sure there's no palm oil or similar in there.
and I have celery. maybe I'll check out the cranberries this morning.
little vitamin C in my sandwich
I made an exception for fish because salmon is so expensive. Still is.
I also wait for sales on frozen uncooked shrimp; that's fun to cook with.
excuse for more garlic, shrimp scampi or curried shrimp are favorites
some of the less expensive farm raised fish from Asia is questionable,
could be scare mongering, but who knows what the fish get fed.
when you have to cook for yourself, as a few of us do,
not much chance for a surprise for dinner.
