Good morning!!!!

...

put the dishwasher on, went outside for awhile, came back in to smell of burning wires.
YIKES!
not good. moved dial on dishwasher and turned off warmer. No more smell and it continued just fine.
nothing had fallen down on element, my concern is internal.
next time I run the dishwasher will make sure I stay inside and watch it.
With our old house, (the wiring and plumbing is newish) we don't leave until anything mechanical or electrical has finished its cycle. Just a habit.

I checked on it and now there is an inch of water stopped up.
repairman called, under warranty

8 years ago, to a favorite Beatles tune
I saw her standing there,
I saw this just traded Massey outside the Kubota dealer in Washington NC
and she just made me take her home.

Well, she was just seventeen,
You know what I mean,
And the way she looked was way beyond compare,
So how could I dance with another,
Oh when I saw her standing there
Well she looked at me,
And I, I could see,
That before too long I'd fall in love with her,
She wouldn't dance with another,
Oh when I saw her standing there.

dug up the veggie gardens after a good picking of what's left.
some hard squash, last of the watermelons and one tiny little watermelon.
It is actually ripe, the stem opposite was brown and it has slight give.
a two biter
tore out all the string beans, they were a mess, discovered more tomatoes hiding.
Vining tomatoes vined like crazy, went all over the place.

69°F and .3 inches of much needed but unexpected rain.

A bit more experience with Sophie’s EGO zero turn yesterday. Can see it be my preference over the tractor , but it does do a very nice, lawn type cut.

HH in one of our older haunts precovid days. They seemed pleased to see us.

Wx going to have big impact on today’s activities

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

74F and sunny @ 13:00, calling for a high of 76F for the day. Low this morning was 41.3F.

Jacked up Woman's car yesterday first thing to locate source of the transmission fluid leak. Was one of the lines running to the cooler. According to Ford the line is discontinued and NLA. Spoke with the guy at the repair shop, he didn't think he's have a problem sourcing it though. Need to drive it over and drop it off.

Refilled hopper and both tube feeders after that.

Woman finally had enough of the crud, got cleaned up and headed into Urgent Care. Got a couple of 'scripts, says She is feeling much better this morning.

Then rotated two of the round 12' posts and started applying a 2nd coat of asphalt. Those will need to cure for a day or so before they can be rotated ant further and have more asphalt applied.

After dinner worked on shredding and packaging yellow squash. Got another 8 lbs, 12.6 oz put in the freezer. There's still another 7 yellows left ... but some of those will be going to one of The Woman's friends along with some zucchini and cukes.

About a week, ten days ago there was a groundhog out at the feeders. Managed to sneak out and get a shot off, it jumped up and ran under the forsythia bushes ... and then ran right in front of me to the burrow entrance at the northwest corner of the garage as I was racking the 12 gauge attempting to chamber another round. Was pretty sure I hit it.

Judging from the stink now wafting up in the garage, that would seem to be confirmed ... 🤢

Hopefully the stench will dissipate before it's time to close up the garage for the winter weather.

On agenda for today:

Refill suet feeders.

Back to watering garden.

Other than that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ... (y)

A lot of leaves coming down from the drought. Makes cleaning the pool an hourly job depending on which way the wind blows.
Same problem, here. I've gotten into the habit of throwing the winter cover on now, even though I let the pump and chlorinator continue to run until water temperature is below 65F (October), just to cut down on having to empty the skimmer basket every few hours.

But then you end up with a mess of water and leaves on top of the pool cover, so this year I bought a net to throw over that. My thinking is that I can lift the net off each weekend to dump those leaves... I'll let you know how that works out.

looks like I'll be hand washing my dishes for a while.
local appliance dealer who sold this said not this week.
inch of water in the bottom, bet that will smell nice soon.
Going to pour a tiny bit of bleach in it and shut the door.

got the lawn mowed and weedeated. Really like my new Makita weedeater, too bad the old one
can't easily be converted to a double line model.
maybe I'll have Popgadget do major heart surgery on the old one since not using it anymore, plus I have a replacement dual
string head I could not get to fit on it. Hence need to buy a newer version which really runs nicely on the lower power setting, very quiet
also with variable trigger speed. If he got it to work, he could customize the length shorter so his grandson could help him weedeat.
child labor law? what's that...

FireWise did not go well.
I was cutting up a dead tree that was on the ground when a swarm of bumble bees covered me. One of the guys said it looked like a dark cloud around me. Bumble bees are not usually aggressive UNLESS you disturb their nest which apparently I did. There were 19 people out there this morning and the bees attacked everyone within 50 yards I lost a hearing aid and glasses swatting the bees off my face. Two other people lost their glasses also. I went home to get my old glasses to help find my new glasses and I got 1/2 lucky and found my hearing aid, but couldn't locate my glasses. The other two also could not locate their glasses. I had to run quite a distance through waist high grass swatting my face. After looking for 2 hours I gave up. I went to Costco and ordered another pair and then went to Harbor freight and got a metal detector. Went back out looking for another hour and no luck. I'll try again this evening when It gets cooler. Luckily I only got stung 4 times and only had to take off my shirt after one flew under it.

update: twilight search for glasses with flashlight looking for a reflection was unsuccessful, glad I ordered a new pair this afternoon.
