Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 72 going to 89 and sunny.
Roads to town were still messy with some lanes closed, still people without power.

Today work on cleaning up the pool bar, and some general maintenance.
If I get time, will cut some of the side lawns.

Buppies, need puppy pictures, how is Holly taking to the dog?

Time to start before it gets too hot.

Be well,

Still quite a bit to go, and this will all be shovel work, maybe tomorrow.

Good morning
77° already, high around 90. Another day without rain.
Hopefully it will continue to dry up so that I can hook up the progressive and get some mowing done. The new tire needs a test.

Yesterday’s trip went pretty well a batch of small delays, but nothing systemic. Mostly just herding all the cats in and out of the plane and loading all the luggage, car seats and strollers, as half the load was young kids including 7 month old twins. Lots of weather in Florida, typical air mass thunderstorms, a bit of a bumpy ride on the descent.

These will likely be showers late in the day, but not a pleasant ride through them. Fortunately we were on top of it all for the majority of the flight. The ride home we were empty, and had a smooth ride at 45,000 feet.

Got home in time to play music with about an hour to spare.
I see that the ATV winch for my project was delivered, along with a new Optrel welding helmet, so I’m looking forward to getting to the shop this morning, I will mow later in the day, it will be dryer, but hotter. Fortunately, the Kubota AC works very well.
did you get the Crystal 2.0 model?

Good Morning,
Vt, 54 to start going to 78. The as Thomas said the 3 H’s coming to town 😉. Got the lawn mowed early evening but now I have clumps of grass all over 🥲 So clean up in my future along with unloading the back of my truck with a load of Trex.
Route 8 was partially closed before I could get on the Mass Pike yesterday, and all the Trex started to slide out of the back of the truck on the detour they made us take.
Didn’t realize it until I got to Vermont. But at $31 a length I’m glad I didn’t lose any 😁.

RS, glad they had what you wanted, it never hurts to ask.

Billy, you hit the nail on the head. Or you have real good eyesight 😉
Something magical about this place on an evening like last night, we feel like we are on top of the world here 🙏❤️

Plans for today, clean grass clippings up and unloading truck into the barn and probably a pontoon ride on the Lake St. Catherine.

Hope all have a blessed and safe day 🙏 Oh, and you might notice little fawn Bambie walking around behind my barn 😉
I have gotten to were I'm quite particular on my material tiedowns. What with the roads getting to my place and then my driveway. I check them at the foot of the driveway and then if I'm the least bit concerned, I'll actually back up so as not to have anything work it's way out and off.

We have had several fawns playing around the last few weeks. And numerous deer grazing on the lawn.
It's still strange to see an animal that used to be a browse feeder and that they have become grazers so much.

Well morning all;
Finally finishing my coffee and breakfast this morning.
I've been going outside and puttering while it's still cool in the morning. Moved trailers around and then the york rake to get to the ditch bank flail and got that on the tractor. Haven't greased it yet or given it a once over.
May try and get that done today in the shade. Because our ten day forecast looks to suck, our normal high humidity and then some very high temps for us. 90's and even upper 90's with humidity not nice outside weather for an old fat man.

All stay safe, get well and avoid the heat

L4N, how about something like this.
That would work out to about 10 grand after exchange 35% + sales tax 13% + freight.

10,000 hours on a diesel is barely broke in.

Where I got the stump out, I put 4 bags of black earth in, raked levelish and seeded. Damp ground and damp earth plus rain coming tonight, hopefully the seed takes off.

Hydro bill just came in, I used 453 KWH over the past 30 days. 15.1 KWH/day.

Later in the summer I may get after 8 more trees and knock them down. There will be no more stump removal. Just cut them off flush with the ground and spread compost on top.

I have two compost piles. One has grass clippings, wood bark and kitchen veggie scraps. The other one is chick feed (I use it for cat litter because it is $30.oo/55lb bag cheaper than Sweet Scoop cat litter), with baking soda and D-earth mixed in. I call it schitty compost.

A diesel automatic standby generator is a luxury, so the 8KW gasser I have now will have to suffice for another year.
It is manual switch over, but no well pump on it because of the 220 Volts that I will not mess with. The oil furnace is not on it either, but the wood furnace is. Just pull the plug on the blower out of the wall and plug it into a duplex outlet labeled "genny". Same for the sump pump. There is a clamp on desk light (25 watts incandescent stove bulb) above each that is permanently plugged into the genny outlet and turned on.

72°F and no rain

Another very good day mowing. But what a slog, really paying for letting it grow taller and thicker. Still not as bad as the original cutting though.

Will continue today. Finish up the Laupahoehoe end of property. Maybe, but only maybe get started on Hilo end.

I did get a txt from neighbor who drove by saying how nice it looked.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day.

Evening all!
78 right now and sunny. Was a beautiful day for the wife and I to hang around on the porch!
Possible rain in the morning and then the heat and humidity rolls in.
Did a bit of weeding in the yard since the last post. Not much else accomplished.
Did get some time in the shop.
Looks like a quiet week ahead. Dentist for me on Monday and then nothing on the calendar for me or the wife.
Made two boxes. One camphor and one cherry.
IMG_1854.jpgIMG_1857.jpgIMG_1873.jpgIMG_1874.jpg
Working on another monthly contest. Plus a few other things in the prep zone. Looks like I will be in the shop quite a bit as it is way cooler than else where. Whole house air is on and ready.
That's it for now.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
