75F and supposedly mostly cloudy @ 12:00, calling for a high of around 80F.
Rain has moved off to the south so not expecting any precip today but WU says 35% chance so a popup shower is still possible I guess.
Pileated woodpecker out on the suet feeder again this morning when I got up.
Hawk out there now screaming.
Worked on sanding boards for raised beds yesterday using the B&D belt sander. The 36 grit belts make fairly quick work of cleaning them up and leave a reasonably decent finish. Still takes some time though.
Glued up and clamped another long board, should be ready now to have the clamps pulled.
Moved a number of boards into the garage so they would fully dry. Have more to do on that today.
Woman got on a tear weeding flower bed around back, hopefully will get that finished before the thistles start dropping seed.
Loaded up 3 cart loads of pulled weeds and hauled those off to the west side. She wants to burn them after they have dried. Personally I’d just toss them in the compost pile. Not sure burning really gets us anything … beyond some satisfaction knowing that any seeds there will never sprout.
Water Buffalo refilled for the eventual dry periods and repositioned out of that way.
Refueled the Cub.
Uncaged the 2 burning bushes, got those weeded, and mulched:
Hauled those weeds up to the compost pile. Bushes will need to be refitted with larger cages as they’ve outgrown the originals.
Also mulched the red maple and the Japanese ornamental:
Total of 7 bags of mulch used.
Verified Nest Box No. 1 is occupied by House Wrens.
Agenda for today:
Winds seem still at the moment so may try to get some spraying done.
Ginkgo tree needs uncaged, weeded, and mulched. Same for the largest Rose of Sharon.
Both need larger cages.
Have several more Rose of Sharon that need moved to their forever homes.
Need to assemble new live trap and get that set out.
See what else comes up.
Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday.
