Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 59 going up to 64 and rain.
We got about 2" last night.

Went out after work and finished temp fence around corn.
If the corn works out I will buy some good posts to build it better next year.

Waiting now for the rain to stop to continue projects.
Ordered some driveway patch to hold us over until neighbor gets on board.Need to go pick it up.

All the rain is going where it's supposed to, no leaks anywhere.

Got roof racks in for the SUV (happy BEF :) ) and will install when it's a bit dryer out.

Be well,

in 5-10 days I should see some shoots if the wildlife doesn't get to it first. Still need a few more staples to hold down some of the wire, was getting a little too wet for me yesterday.

Morning all,
We had a nice warm DRY day yesterday and another one forecast for today. We have had to much rain up here also this spring. Lot of field work falling behind as the ground is just to wet to get on and work.
Did get 1/2-2/3's of my lawn mowed Sunday only mowed through a bit of standing water in a few spots and did make a couple of ruts crowding the soggy areas a bit close.
Picked up a few odds and ends of new steel to make a new drawbar for my brothers little pulling tractor ( a slightly warmed up WD45)
Then took the RAM 1500 in for an oil change and state inspection, that was $138. I was going to say a quick 138 but it was actually a bit over two hours so it certainly wasn't quick. This dealership is trying to be fancy when you drive in to get to the service manager you pass through several cameras and scanners which then generates a folder with lots of pictures and info even including the tread depth, age and condition of the tires as well as a general view of the under carriage and body with most little scratches and such identified. Then they actually do an under body walk around video with commentary on the trucks condition and wear items.

All stay safe and get well

not to beat a dying horse but it seems with a fair amount of moral decline out there,
folks are trying to scam the repair shops and dealers a lot more. Seems to be a whole class of folks
who have a gypsy mentality. Hit and run and go to another town.
you dented my car! that scratch wasn't there! I'll take cash...

plus like the fancy new automatic xray machines some dentists use,
all this stuff is made to document first and generate money second.
just checking tread depth is smart, quick way to sell some tires.

my experience is that oil change usually runs around 125-35 with full synthetic, for sure more on diesels or just because
on some brands. It's more on my car because the factory skid plates have to be dropped, and then a second door
unscrewed. Without a lift, that's nuts.

pretty sure we all can remember when a full oil change was $19.95

Frits, do you have any hemi tick when starting? That truck makes the world's nicest noise when it starts.
Baarrrooooommmmm.
Much louder outside than in the well insulated truck.

official now that hemis are coming back to cars and trucks.

loaner car I drove home was a new Lexus GX550. newer version of what I own but very different.
Rides very nice, surprisingly coarse engine makes much more noise than you would expect.

had to call selling dealer back to find the key for my hitch lock they forgot to put back in the car.
getting hitch put on today but need the key for the locking pins on the receiver, my nice aluminum adjustable one.
oh, used car manager had it in his pocket.
ok
will pick it up this afternoon

69F and partly cloudy @ 10:45, calling for a high of 75F for the day, slight chance of a shower. Chance of precipitation 24%. No rain since midnight.

Hawk flew over and landed in a large maple at the southeast corner of the garden while I was trimming the seed heads off the rhubarb yesterday.

Woman says it's been a regular, perched on the deck railing in the mornings ... apparently looking for tasty things to eat. Wish it would take the groundhog.

Redbud trees finished up blooming a couple weeks ago. The one that I attempted the repair on, which had split at the top fork - probably from a buck rubbing on it - lost one half of the fork. The other half seems fine though. Need to do some work on that, trimming off the dead and staking what remains to force it to grow upright.

Irises have begun to bloom, peonies not far behind.

Largest tomato seedlings in the little indoor greenhouse are around 4" tall now and have true leaves. Going to say that at least half of the seeds have germinated so far ... so around 36 plants or so.

With relatively low chances of rain today and little chance of frost now, it's probably a good time to run over to the garden center, see what they have, and pick up a flat of plants for the garden and get those repotted into larger containers. These will go on the shelves around back until I can get them in the ground.

Probably do some clean up in the garden as well, maybe take down the remesh on the straight trellis so the cattle panels can be put up.

If any rain materializes will probably head up to the shop and see about wiring up that plug on the squirrel cage blower to use for drying the posts.

There's a 12v electric fuel pump up there somewhere that I need to locate for the centrifuge filtration project. Not sure if it really has enough pressure or flow ... probably not but worth a try just to find out.

Also need to locate the base gasket and outlet piping for the centrifuge:

No shortage of things that need doing, just not enough me to get them all done.

Anyways daylight is wasting.

Hope everyone is having a decent day ... (y)

pouring hard out as last of system goes through. 2.30 in the rain gauge and rising
this was the good soaking we needed. Hearing first of thunderstorms and some house jiggling thunder.

have been driving the same way every time for 53 years to my friend's cabin in the Catskills.
going to take the scenic route this time on Friday. If I turn off route 28 heading West from Kingston, not far in
on 28A, it takes me over the Ashokan reservoir where I hope to take some pics of this spot:
two things will mess that up
pouring rain and if Officer Bob is sitting in that no parking area.

it's a good thing those willow shrubs love the water

Drew, I hope you got as much for the Ford as what you paid for it.
Do you have to have separate insurance on your trailer or is it covered on your auto policy when it is hooked up?
Both of mine are covered when hooked up to the Dodge.
If I put a light cord on the Dodge (right now there is none)
and a ball hitch on the back of the army trailer, then I could pull two, the army trailer and the converted boat trailer which is now a flat bed. ;)

70°F and .63 inches rain

Good dental appointment except I gave a fractured filling that needs replacing. Only been there since the 80’s. Appointment end of Oct.

Got the grass in dog’s area touched up so not to tickle their butts.

Enjoyed a nice burger in town after the dentist.

Having some friends over later and I’m on tap for homemade meatballs and spaghetti.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
