Good morning!!!!

50F and sunny @ 08:45, heading up to around 75F for the day's high.

Good day for a road trip out into rural Ohio and then some mowing when I get back.

Got posts unloaded late yesterday:

Next step on that project will be to get the 4 x 4's tarped and move a squirrel cage blower down from the shop and get it circulating some air so they dry out a little quicker. Need to wire up a proper cord for it first though.

After that I loaded the empty IBC tote in the van.

Drained off a half quart or so of engine oil as I had slightly overfilled it the last time I had topped it off. Took it out for a quick test drive and that was enough to get the high oil level warning indicator to shut off.

Checked the rear tire pressure and they were at 70psi so I topped those off at 80 psi which is the maximum.

Fished out a 10' stick of 1/2" conduit and some hose clamps to get the pick up hose on the bottom of the underground fuel tank and loaded those in the van.

Northwest planting bed is filling in nicely, sure needs weeded though:

Have to see if I can get The Woman on that lol.

And the new hosta that I transplanted last year seem to be doing well:

On that last photo I finally got the power company to come out and take down the pin oak that was growing up into the electrical wires next to the pole with the transformer on it ... so that area won't be getting as much shade.

Of course that was after they came out and trimmed it and left a huge mess and I called and raised holy hell.

Dole out this week's meds and then I'm probably off to pick up the next load of diesel fuel.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

Good morning. Weather has been nice, cool in the low 40's, highs mid 60's. Finally a chance for rain today. Haven't had any precip in over a month!

Some good news and some bad news.....
Dona's PET scan showed that the lymph nodes/cancer has been obliterated in the lymph system. The bone marrow areas show that it is almost gone.
The bad news is it has now spread into the actual bone. Blood work is stable, but the important parts are still showing low. The oncology "team" (6 Drs) meet with a consortium of Drs from the Mayo on Wednesday. They will present Dona's case to them. They will formulate a new treatment strategy.

This hit me much harder than it did Dona. She has always been strong.... I'm counting on that.....

She goes for another thoracentesis on Thursday. We are hoping the fluid buildup is continuing to be on the decrease.

She did come outside with me yesterday and we transplanted about 30 new tree seedlings. We may do another 15 or so today. This week we will probably be able to do a few plantings. Good that she gets some sun and fresh air.

That's about it.....

Hope everyone has a great day!
Thanks for the update, and prayers for Dona.

Prayers for Buppies and wife.

Been busy at work and home. Son getting academic award next Wednesday. 3 more years of high school to go. He's been exercising like crazy.

Got the yard mowed today just before a storm brought maybe .25" of rain.

Been troubleshooting the headlights in my SUV. You would think it'd be easy...phantom issue, but after ordering all new lights and bulbs, the old ones are working again. I believe a turn signal or running light bulb had been overheating and causing a voltage decline. Put a new LED bulb in the running light and seems to be working now.

Fork seals on FJR 1300 are leaking. I made my own plastic sheave tool to do what the store bought ones do. Seems better, but bike is 16 years old, so rubber is getting old. Hasn't hit 5000 miles yet. Took her for a 50 mile scooterpop yesterday in 82F weather. Purrfect temp.

It is 78F after the storm but muggy.

Working on the older Gator carb, trying to get it to start and idle better. Usually the pilot jets. Thinking about drilling them out a few thousandths.

Duck I took to the public pond seems to be doing fine with his new friend still.

Doctors agreed to do the heart procedure on my mom. They say 99% safe, and it should greatly reduce her congestive heart failure (fluid build up around the heart). Shoud do it near the end of the month.

Prayers for our team.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 5.2C and it's presently 8.3C [heading to 19C], clear & calm.

Yesterday was 'straight forward' with the arvo paddock transfer followed by some 'tractor fun' chain-harrowing Paddock #6.

Yes, that possum showed up again last evening... getting a bit bolder too as I had to 'toe' encourage it to leave.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

I’d lead encourage it after it left the house.

Good breakfast with all the crew
Went to the large greenhouse as mentioned before
Took Honda in for emission scam test due next week.
Changed oil in Honda. Still couldn’t get oil plug out with 6 pt, so used the twist out set I had ordered after last time I had to take it to the shop. Makes me wonder if they took plug out or siphoned the oil out. Anyways, it came out and new oil in. Took me awhile to find the new oil plug I had ordered, but eventually success. Had issue finding filter wrench also.

now RS before getting your wife to weed the gardens you should get her to mow the entire place

Yeah, no ... I really shouldn't.

Doing so would only set her up to fail ... as she has a very hard time turning the Cub steering wheel and hasn't quite yet mastered the "don't-try-to-turn-the-steering-wheel-until-you're-rolling" paradigm which makes it a little easier.

Her trying to mow would only remind her of her own current physical infirmities ... and remind her that She wasn't willing to test drive the Cub at the dealer's before we bought it ... something She is still beating herself up about.

Not exactly a great way to lift someone's spirits.

Interestingly, She doesn't seem to have too much of a problem with weeding - it's self-paced and a sit-down job.

and then make you a nice hot lunch.

Well She did call me on my way back from the fuel pick up, checking to see if I would stop and pick up wings.

Sure, no problem.

Ultimately She decided She didn't want me messing with getting on and off the freeway and navigating Saturday traffic in the city while loaded with 2000+ lbs of diesel fuel.

So She ran down to the local pizza joint after I got home and She finished repotting Her Palm tree.

Oddly enough, She got what they call a Stromboli (it's actually a Calzone) and I got the garlic parm wings ...

tell me how that works out for you... ;)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You tell me ... ;)

Yes thanks - that helps.

Was originally going to do double doors for each 6' opening.

I think using pvc/abs for the frame and 12.5 ga wire for the mesh they will be light enough that a single door would be fine.

And that eliminates the cost of one set of hinges for each opening.
