I think it's both, as I have the same issue. It seems kids scream more than talk, and the parents must be able to tune it out. As I get older my patience for it becomes less.

Morning all, 53 going to 56 and rain, had about an inch overnight and lots power twice.
Found a few more trees down, but in places where I will probably just leave them.
Dog walk and some stuff around the house, nothing exciting done yesterday.

See things greening up, daffodils, weeds (of course). Will need to check after last nights storm to see how many sticks and branches to pick up.

Happy birthday Phil !

Happy St Patricks day.

Be well,

Good Morning
53° and overcast, likely the high for today. Rain was threatened all day yesterday, but most of the bands missed us. Looks like we did get 7/8” after midnight according to the Davis weather station, 1/2” according to the Tempest. I believe the Davis.

Yesterday started with feeding everyone waffles.
Then changed the battery in son’s pickup. 2007 GMC 4WD 2500 with 25k on it, still looks like it rolled out of the showroom. It lives inside, hauls a ski boat to the river in the summer, and the occasional other chore.

Next was to finish up the axle project.
I made up assemblies with stub axles that slid into the square tubing, the inside support was rosette welded into holes made with the magnetic drill press, the outboard support was fully welded to the tube. I put bolts through the tube for the chain guides and welded the heads inside the tube before sliding the stubs in.

Here’s a stub getting reading for welding.

And welded in place with the chain guard mounted

Finally leaving the shop.

Fit right in place on the spreader.

Think the old axle was ready to retire?

I did some tinkering with the 3D printer and some more cleaning up before calling it a day.

Today, I might get some pork belly into the smoker, I need to get some charcoal and a diamond bit for putting a hole in ceramic tile. I’ve also got a couple of downed trees to clean up, and an area to grade level and stone for the shed coming next week, so it’s up in the air what actually happens.

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! 50° and mostly cloudy. Hard to get out of bed when the weather is yucky, but I managed to do it somehow.

Weekend was successful, knocked down that pile of dirt from the old maple with the blade, scooped up with the bucket and piled nicely elsewhere.
A nice drive for the suppressor and then rang up my buddy to test it out. Was able to get his wife's rifle dialed in along with making sure the suppressor worked. It does, not movie quiet but takes it down to a manageable level that will keep my neighbors happy.

Of course, a day with my buddy is not complete without an invite to dinner at his place. Steaks over a red oak fire:

Not pictured: His wife's delicious mashed potatoes, sweet Asiatic green beans, or fluffy biscuits. I now see why his weight has plateaued. Was there far too late enjoying cigars, bourbon and good company.

Because of that and the storm, Sunday was a sluggish one. Just some general tidying up for the parents return. Don't think we lost any trees to the storm, but was certainly a way to start the spring off. I see the grass is slowly starting to turn green...Perhaps I need to push the mower forward.

Goals for the week: Survive work week, purchase mower, stump grinding potentially on the docket for this weekend. Depends on how wet things stay.

Happy Birthday Phil!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Prayers for those ailing or recovering!
Stay safe out there Y'all and enjoy the week!

I was hoping the failed router was just the power supply, which is an odd 19V. but it was good.
Originally ordered new mesh system pair on amazon and wasn't coming till wed, then right after I placed the order, saw Costco had a 3 unit one for $50 more in stock, so quickly canceled the amazon order. Usually I have trouble cancelling amazon orders, even if done right away, but this one disappeared, so hope they don't send it.
Was surprised to see the app would allow me to change settings even while not on the local network (across wan port), usually routers don't allow that. It made it nice for me to make a couple more changes after I got home, but might look for a place to turn that feature off. Same system I use at home, but now with Wifi7 and faster speeds.

Good Afternoon,
I had to leave the party yesterday early. The 6 kids never stopped making screaming noises. Is this something new or is it me getting older. Taking my hearing aids off did not help.
Yes Ron, a lot of screaming, especially our oldest grandson. He is just loud. I can only take so much of that myself, like 4 hours is my limit. Unfortunately we get the kids overnight sometimes and then I really need to get out of the house. 😉😂

Paul, nice work on the axle , did you prime and paint it or was that the other guys job ?
