46F rain has finally arrive. :)

Gusty winds of yesterday shook LOT of leaves loose  3 hours yesterday afternoon, blower purring like kitten 6:15am this morning until 12:30pm finally all caught up...yup back pockets are dragging. :(

Found Boo 4" dia. rope which was tie tightly to oak limb hanging down so he can play with it about 30 yards away  wonder how he got the knot untie.

After lunch able to have nice nap so I can watch NYG win another...please. 🤞

Almost dinner time than feet up share bowl ice cream snuggle into recliner.

Enjoy your evening all.

It's funny, my wife gets angry at me because they treat me better in her country than they do her. I've heard it's the same in vietnam. Regardless, it's an awesome place. I have a car there so I can go where I want.
Kind of in reverse. Last year's vacation was to Africa and she was upgraded routinely to a suite. Her travel companions were amazed and did not get upgraded
She had a good time there

I got ruled out for the road trip today. I stayed back and cleaned house with many a break in between. Still not right from the alligator. Hope tomorrow is better.
What in the world is happening with the Detroit Lions. They are really good...wow.
I recall smelling NJ as a child when we drove through on our way to NY LI. Thankfully they did whatever and cleared it up by the late 70's.

Good evening all. Good night.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 4.4C and it's presently 14.9C, mostly cloudy with a steady breeze/wind. There was 1.0mm in the gauge @ 0900.

Yesterday, after changing into my new trakie-daks (light grey) I went out and unhooked the battery charger from the 4105. I transferred the charger over to the battery on the diesel bowser, just 'because'.

Of course, once I completed those tasks, I noticed that the 4105 had 'christened' the 'daks' with a nice ring of FEL grease.

Today I'll need to head into town to collect what the Wine Faeries have dropped off + mail a BD card off to my God-daughter. I'll fill the ute up too.

That's about it, take care all.

Drew, I had recommended Puccini pizza in Cumberland MD, on your trip out I68. Maybe it's good you skipped it. I brought home one and a half yesterday, opened the whole one at home, and totally black on the whole outside and the bottom. They always had such good pizza, but that one was terrible. The other one was fine, I opening it in the parking lot and ate 3 pieces right there before leaving. If I had opened the other one instead, I would have taken it back in. No way should they have even offered that pizza.

Other than that, good trip home last night.

Good worship today, and because of the fall festival in town, we ate lunch at our usual breakfast place over the line in PA. Was a good change. Still an italian pizza place mainly, but they do offer some mexican items also.

Will need to mow yard again yesterday.

Posted a new video on Youtube of fall leaves at the farm.

Youghiogheny Lake low, you can see the remains of the Great Crossing Bridge at the bottom.

From Wiki:
Built near a ford that had been in use by Europeans since George Washington's 1753 journey to Fort LeBoeuf, the 375-foot long, 40-foot high, 30-foot wide sandstone bridge with three arches was erected between 1813 and 1818, and was dedicated on July 4, 1818 at an event attended by President James Monroe.
The town of Somerfield, Pennsylvania, which was originally named Smythfield, was built at the eastern end of the bridge in 1817. The bridge and town were later inundated by Youghiogheny River Lake, a reservoir that began filling in 1940

I had employees from the area and when we drove in and started to smell the sulphide or who knows what in the air they said this is like being home and just like apple pie

I guess they were used to the smell
Just 2 days ago.

2 dead, at least 35 injured after chemical release reported at refinery in Deer Park, officials say

When I was 20, on my XS650 Special, I rode through a gas cloud that immediately shut my breathing down. I nailed it up to 85mph to try and get out of it. This was on Fairmont Parkway in Laporte, just below Deer Park where that gas leak happened. Fortunately, I was already doing about 40mph, and there was no traffic on a Sunday evening at twilight. I was the only one out on the road. When I was young, I used to practice holding my breath, and could do a little more than a minute at best.

Still here to tell the tale.

Drew, glad you made it safe and sound on your leg to Beaumont.

Prayers for our team.

The L5030 needs to be taken to the shop again. It's leaking too much hydraulic fluid. Not sure exactly where. But dad also said the left brake isn't working. So when I looked at it, the left brake was locked on, and yes, the pedal all the way down. It had been locked and driven for awhile with the brake on. Don't know who locked the brake down, it could have been me, dad, or the guy that hunts (he's been using the tractor). Either case, it needs fixed before next years mowing season, and youtube videos show changing the brakes will be a pita.

52°F and clear skies this morning, got up to 78° here today. Wind was 20-30mph all day. Walking out to close the chicken coop this evening was not a shorts and T-shirt affair, yet there I was. Looks like we may get down to the low 30s midweek.

Been away too long again, missed a lot. I see Drew has made it around to eastern Texas already. Moving right along.

Hope everyone is well.

Good evening, gents.

Good morning,
43° now highs in the low 50’s today, off and on rain, wind NNW 5-10 mph. Had some boomers come through earlier, loud enough to wake me lol.

Managed to get mowing done last Friday, was hoping it’d be last time but with rain yesterday and today may need it again. Cleaned up the last of the veggie garden and put stakes and trellises away. Mrs made roast chicken with butternut squash and fresh bread yesterday, I’m guessing chicken soup is on the menu for tonight 👍. Today is going to be a conserve energy day.

Enjoy your day everyone

Prayers for all in need

Morning all!
Currently 42 with thunder and rain. Rain gutters are full of leaves so that should be a mess!
Made four passes with the leaf vac on the front yard and it still looks like this!
IMG_9519.jpg

They just keep dropping. Mulch pile is already getting pretty big.
IMG_9520.jpg

Was a great visit with my friend who had a stroke 18 months ago! We hope to do more visits in the future. Hard to do though as it takes a whole day with travel time. [2 hours one way]
Did an oil and filter change on the nephew's car yesterday.
Was in the shop some. Made a self portrait.
IMG_9496.jpg

Did manage to make a needed deep dish out of cherry for ourselves. About 12 inch in diameter.
IMG_9508.jpg

Worked at the saw mill for a few hours. Wood was to rotten for anything but burning! We worked on two of the old John Deere's also. I brought the carb home so I can take it apart from one of them. The other we changed out the hydraulic fluid and filters. Still can't get the 3 point to work! We need to get the rear tires repaired and installed to see if it will help. They appreciate me helping so much they brought us produce from their garden and meat from a freshly slaughtered pig! I'm happy with just the wood he gives! Speaking of, He dropped off a great big cherry burl last night! About 4 feet long and 3 in diameter! Nice! Will be lots of projects I hope. If it's not rotten inside.
IMG_9511.jpg

That's it for now. Not sure what will get done this week. Have guest coming for a few days. Coffee with all the sisters again Friday. Leaf pick up is top priority if things dry out.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
Hope you feel better Buppies!

Happy Columbus Day. 60 looking for 68. Yesterday was our last 80 degreer, probably.

I'm a few days behind.

Scotty, not sure what's prettier...your mountain, or my vision of rocking in that chair when it's done.

Rip, sorry for all your problems. Prayers sent.

Don, glad you're back on the job. But day 1 sounds like a long one.

Bonnie and Clyde Day looks like fun, mostly.

Phil, you have nice ears. 😁

It's October, so I've been in the mountains. Had great weather for my backpacking trip.

Hiked by some beautiful waterfalls, had to take my boots off at a couple of river crossings and wade. Cold water felt great. Just one snake, no bears, but lots of bear poop. Got back to parking lot and saw this baby parked next to my truck.

Good morning, the low is 35 and only going to a high of 45°F. Wind NE 8 gusting to 19 mph. 30% chance of rain.

Today is thanksgiving and I have no expectations of doing anything except for eating the beef fingers we got last week. They are fairly fatty, so have been resting in a marinade of pineapple and caramelized onions overnight. They will get cooked in the slow cooker today.

Thanks Buppies and Ron.

Happy Columbus Day all.
