Morning all, 66 going to 91 and sunny.
Went out and sanded down the pool bar yesterday. Not enough time to give it another coat, maybe in a few weeks.

Sorry about your loss Wngsprd - prayers for your family

Took dog for a walk at peddlars village so she could socialize.

Be well,

Trimmed up the weeping tree, now we can see the gazebo again!

Good morning, the low temp is 60 and going to a high of 82°F. Wind NNW 5 mph. Sunny! Next 4 days will be 82.

I'm going to the dump today and get the mail on the way back.

I ordered a new Blackthorn cane on Sunday, it shipped yesterday. The blackthorn I am using now is starting to disintegrate down near the bottom.

I was up at 4 A.M. this morning and went back to bed at 5:30. Got up at 7:45. I got my 8 hours of sleep, just not all at once.

My big Tom Kat has finally got the idea that he can sleep on the bed when I am in it. Not like Smokie, yet. She used to wait until I got into bed and she would lay on my chest and purr up a storm until I fell asleep. This is the same cat that would jump up onto my mouse pad and park all 4 feet on top of my hand when it was holding the mouse.

Sorry for your loss wngsprd.

Have a safe day all

They ran my favorite engine, a 351 Cleveland.
I have a 351 Cleveland Boss engine out in my car barn on a engine stand.
I had planned to put it into something Ford but never got around to it.
I start it up a number of times a year just to hear it run.
The neighbourhood knows when she starts up. Straight headers and a 6500rpm redline.(y)

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 5:30AM. Foggy early, becoming sunny this afternoon. High 74F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Sorry for your loss, Billy.

Ran around packing stuff in the van for projects up north, then took a ride up to a friend's house to see if we could get the two way radio to pair with my helmet comms. No luck there, so I give up. We did get the Bluetooth comms in each of our helmets to pair, but range was less than a quarter mile, and it had to be line of site. Helpful if we all stay in a group, but line of site is often interrupted by other vehicles, hills, and curves. Returning the radio, and will get way less expensive and simpler ones, and another set of speakers and boom mike for the helmet. Then hopefully be able to hear the radio with the earbuds in. If not, just send the new radios back for a refund and forget about talking to people while riding a motorcycle. Hand signals worked for fifty years, and still do.

Came home and packed the rest of the stuff, and still have a little to do.

Headed north today so need to get a move on...

Open headers sound great!
on a drag strip...
tube headers can sound a little different than cast iron
I thought whatever flows air the fastest is good but you usually need some backpressure (?)

now if you want noise
run open headers in that Pantera we saw pics of
It is hard to describe how far into the passenger compartment that engine sits, it's like
at the back of your seat. You and the engine are one. Add open headers to that, oh my.
Tuned tubular headers usually work best. Have been looking at chrome headers in JC Whitney
since I was a kid.
I remember they offered colored ones too, reds and sparkly blues. Course that probably burned off in the first hour
with a horrible smell anyway.

351 is a strong engine. Ford cranks a lot of horsepower out of that engine
Clevelands and Windsors and likely others.
But it wasn't "exotic" in the GT. Just went like stink.

There were two Panteras at the show. Sit very low to the ground.
but my favorite ground scraper was the Austin Healey 3000 roadster.
They ran their exhausts down super low, looks like about three inches off the ground.
Easy to rip them off.

speaking of ripping off........borrowing my brother's C8 tomorrow to drive to lunch with another childhood buddy, one
who I had to cancel on last time. His job is to make sure we don't wreck the front air dam, unfortunately car not equipped with
front end lift. Should be nice sunny day.

I did drive this Corvette last week with my brother.
Thought I looked very carefully when pulling out into a tight area
in Peddlers Village, where you don't go fast anyway.
So I start to pull out and somehow
I'm looking at a bumper coming at my head.
where did you come from...
I believe I muttered something brief and obscene
and floored it.
Only to learn just how excellent the traction is in that car, which
is why it performs so well with (relatively) tame horsepower.
I heard a roar, the car launches forward with a little screech
and I have to immediately get off the gas as I'm turning left and then having to stop.
The jackass meter was pegged.
The car had both the acceleration and the traction to complete the move, somehow I didn't over correct, and I sat
there saying sorry sorry sorry to my brother who frankly had no idea what had happened.

I would like to drive a little smoother this time, but I never would have pulled out if I had seen that car.
He must have come whipping around the intersection corner and there I was.
still don't understand why I didn't see him.

sure hope to never do that again.
